Still optimistic

Be patient. The right decisions will be made. This is unacceptable, including to Fran.
By the person that made the wrong decisions to begin with? Cmon. We are all optimists in August, but Fran had one good game all year as a head coach—Clemson.

Fran will learn from this just like he learned from our 10 win season.
Some of you just wanted to fire coaches left and right.
Fran did not give up and he hates losing.
We will be MUCH better going forward.
I'm sure he will look at EVERYTHING this team is doing and how the staff is.
He will make the tough choices and do what is right for the S.

I just don’t see it. Fran’s side of the ball has been pretty awful both seasons and he hasn’t done anything to shake it up. He has benefitted from bringing in qb’s that some other coach developed and he hasn’t shown any ability to develop players on his own. I see at least two dozen guys hitting the portal as soon as it opens and transfers will think hard about putting their trust in coming here as Fran gave up on this season and his players back in October.

Yes of course we will have alot of transfers out, Fran already said we would.
He still might make changes in the off season on the defensive side.
We would not have had a chance with most of the players on the roster.
Highest rating class will be coming in and they all believe in Fran.
We will do fine in the transfer portal as well.
Off season will be a big one this year.

Not the ones we want to leave and/or stay.
Doubt it.
Aren’t they his players on the roster?
I’ll believe it when I see them all sign.
I’ll believe it when I see them play.
Agreed.

We would not have a chance in signing most of the players is what I meant.
Alot of the important players have said they are coming back for 2026.
Why would the recruits that "we won't sign" not have opened it up already, spots are filling up fast and we have been losing for a long time. YET no one has decommited, other then the 3 that where given the talk.
I get it's not easy to think positive at all after this season.
Fran will do whatever that has to be done to get it headed back the right way.

Expect Fran to right the ship.

What do you base your expectations that “Fran will right the ship”.

Let’s talk reality…… Our beloved SU finished the 2025 season with a miserable 3&9 overall conference record and a pathetic 1 &7 in conference schedule.

Before you give me the tired “injury” excuse let me remind you that this was Fran’s team who he selected by dismissing those players he had inherited who he believed were non performers and able to recruit a full year in high schools, junior colleges and through the transfer portal. Fran failed to put together a broad based class with talent sufficient to compete in the ACC.

Next the Fran-bots justify his failures by blaming the offense and defense coordinators. Hey spoiler alert, it was fFran’s job alone as head coach to build his staff and when stating that one or more of the coordinators failed that failure falls back on Fran.

So yea, I admire your optimism but my experience is that Fran is a very good recruiter but unable to be the Orchestra leader of overseeing and coordinating operations which the head football coach must do.

I hope Fran win at the 8 games the Fran-bots claim will happen.

Fran’s team is fortunate to have an easy schedule with 5 quick easy- easier games against lightweights that include mighty New Hampshire, storied Toledo, Independent UConn basement dweller Boston College and Bill Belichick drama plagued UNC.

Please prove me wrong.

I’m just wondering how many players from the is team are back. I’m no expert and wonder what the board thinks but I’m in the 15-20 range and very few of them are more than depth.

That’s like 80-90% turnover

The disappointing thing is I feel Fran gave up on this season...and so did his players. I agree with you that Fran does not like to lose but you could have fooled me with the way this season played out.

So now it throws doubt at anything he says because, “coaches say things”
Fran says a lot of things most of them are full of it. Sales guy trying to run an engineering department. Can’t coach nor can his buddies

If you think Angeli is the only reason why we lose the last 8 games in increasingly embarrassing fashion I am just going to have to disagree

This was a train wreck of monumental proportions

Let me preface this by saying there is no excuse to end the season the way we did. This is P4 football and one injury can’t be allowed to derail a season. With that being said, I still project 8 wins or better next year. The biggest thing is ERob, he has to go. His schemes are awful and he can’t be allowed to be the D-coordinator. If he wants to stay on staff in some capacity for recruiting I am all for that. I expect big portal moves and we have some young dudes coming in. We will be alright.

I still think the football program is in a better spot than basketball. I know many won’t agree after the last two months, but I’ll go out on a limb and say we string together a decent run here the next couple of years.
We just witnessed the worse 8 game stretch in our history and maybe anybody’s history, but you have confidence we win 8 games next year?
Any moron could of stood on the sidelines and had the team better prepared than what we saw.

What was the other one? Tennessee played their best game of the year against us. UConn had us on the ropes. Colgate is a mediocre FCS team that had 4 scoring drives on us… they even had a backup QB. The Duke shellacking? The end of the first half against Pitt? Trailing by 28 against SMU/ga tech/Miami? The ND debacle? Filardi making us want Collins back? Losing to a 1-10 team?

Nothing but great things to say about Fran and where things are headed.
That’s nice. I doubt any player is going to whine and gripe. They’re PR savvy. But I’m sure many of them are very attached to the staff.
