Only caught the back end of the game on radio, and I'll probably miss the Army game.

It'll take another week for me to get dialed in.

despite the loss, I believe there's lots to work with/tweak as the season goes along because we have the talent! Benoit coming in as advertised which was nice to see. We aren't using enough of Muchnick though. Would like to see her being used more, because she's very effective when she's on the field. Would like to see her taking the ball to x and going 1v1 against defenders. Would be an automatic goal almost every time.

Why do we have draws in either mens or womens? You love it when you have a great draw specialist (yesterdays Manhattan game) and hate it when you don't (last year). Makes no sense to have one person so dominate a game. Alternate possessions. Time for a change.

Who played good, who played bad? Wasnt able to watch it... BTN+ garbage... Saw Adamson had 6Gs

I believe you are referring to Ann Marie Hawley? And that situation is exactly what came to my mind when this news came out. I dont think Volpe has ever been able to stay healthy enough to play one full season. It's a shame with such a talent as her and I'm rooting for her to get healthy enough to have a great career here. SU has gotta change something up, because whatever they are doing, it's not working. Just realized Claire Jeschke is sidelined and not playing as well...
3 ACLs? I don’t ever expect to see her play.

I'd have to watch the game again to get a better assessment, because I was just trying to enjoy the game the first time around. IMO, the players that played well were Adamson, Natalie Smith & Emma Ward (in the 2nd half) making some clutch plays in crucial moments which prevented the game slipping out from under us, Benoit, Goodale, and Muchnick (when Kayla decided to actually play her).

The players who didn't play well were Maschewke, Simkins continues to be the biggest liability on defense even though she is a veteran. With the injury to Volpe, Kayla decided to throw Payton Rowley into her spot on the 1st line. Head scratcher on that one. Savannah Sweitzer on offense should not be a thing. In a perfect world, I would like to be seeing less of Sweitzer and Rowley, and more of Muchnick/Desimone/Rode, literally anyone else.

Non-factors in this game would be Chevarie and Tyrrell. Chevarie got dusted a couple of times. Tyrrell did have a goal, but also got stuffed quite a few times and also got a couple of charging calls. She is not moving around like how she normally does, which I guess is to be expected coming back from injury. Hopefully that wears off as the season goes on. But, thats just me nit-picking. The story of this game was won at the dot. Simply not going to beat a veteran laden team with the talent that NW has on offense if we don't have possession. But there's still plenty of time to get things right.

Just got a log in for the BigTen+. Looking forward to actually seeing what happened in this game. Sounds like slow start and draws did us in today. Good news is that we hung with defending national champs at home when they returned their entire roster and we had to replace three starters including one of the programs best players of all time.

Frustrating parts of this game for sure, but there are some good take aways. Muchnick is a player. Tyrell will convert more times than not. Adamsom was balling out today. Kayla and staff now have some film to dissect.

Quick turnaround. See you all in the Dome on Saturday?

I remember the men's game had it one year in the 70s but it was discontinued after that one year. Any historians know the history on why it was started and stopped so abruptly?

In 1978, Hopkins won the NC by going 20-22. Officials voted to eliminate faceoffs for 1979.

Coaches hated it, so faceoffs were reinstated in 1980.

Thanks for this summary, from actually watching the game. Didn't catch this one, but probably can get it on B10 network.

Sounds like it was lost at the X & there are some questionable personnel choices.

Hopefully this year is the opposite of last year. I'd rather we peak late than early.

Last years meltdowns still gives me nightmares.
