SU and BC will play 2x /yr in BB

And we certainly have flexibility to tweak the OOC schedule. We know we'll see GTown every year, and probably SJU as well. One will be in the Dome, the other away. We will have the usual preseason tourney match ups, and probably room for one more high profile team at home.

Personally, I see NC State and GaTech being as big of a draw as a Louisville or Cincy. And teams like Clemson, FSU, Miami and Wake will all be better than Prov, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Marquette in terms of home draws. We don't get many out of towners from those fan bases showing up anyway.

Ticket sales will probably be fine. Of course, if we compare the above teams in terms of quality competition, it's a downgrade.

I imagine tickets will be pretty hard to get for these games
Has BC ever moved any (vs Duke or UNC?) off campus ? I know they are a terrible draw, one of the worst in major college basketball, but it would be great to take over the TD Garden like in 2003 and hopefully this March as well.

This suks. Listen to the video for details. Pitt is in the same division (atlantic?) as Puke and North Carolina. We are in the coastal? and get to regularly play just one credible team, Florida St. This is terrible news, just what I feared.

Funny how the BE wouldn't guarantee SU would play Georgetown (sucks) twice a year, but the ACC will have SU and BC play twice each year.
Great.
Our "partner" is a team we barely cared about when they were in the Big East.
And the only game that really matters - the one against the evil scoundrels we'll be trouncing next Wednesday - may never be played again.

Saturday's sell out at MSG should give the Garden an idea.
How about an annual "Old School Showdown" where the Orange & Pitt come in one weekend
and play a game each against G-town (pardon the language) and St. John's?
They could do it the week between Christmas & New Year's.

In an ideal world this is what I would have preferred...

ACC North and South

North
Syracuse
BC
Pitt
Maryland
Va Tech
Virginia
Wake Forest

Then play everyone in your division twice and then play everyone else once. It would mean 19 league games and an unbalanced home and away schedule, but I don't think you can get a more balanced and fair schedule. By splitting the north and sour schools you'd also be able to cultivate the more geographic rivalries and cut down on some of the travel.

Nobody has mentioned that BC has a tremendous recruiting tool, now.

They can now sell to New England recruits, 2 games a year against the 5th most winningest program of all time. Plus, at least, one game a year against the 3rd and 4th most winningest programs of all time.

I think, in due time, we'll be looking forward to the BC games.

that is football, basketball you play everyone, and once every 3 years we would have a home and away against duke and unc, they would come to the dome 2 out of 3 years

You overrate the value of this "tool" just a bit.

Amazing how a few years changes everything.

It took a small miracle for me to get into Conte Forum for the '05 game

I went to both games in 2000 and 2001, night and day atmosphere wise. 2001 was that first good Troy Bell team.

Sample schedules for the first three years:

Year 1
Home: BC, Duke, UVA, Maryland, Pitt, FSU, Miami, Wake, GT
Away: BC, Duke, UVA, Maryland, Pitt, UNC, NC St., Clemson, VT

Year 2
Home: BC, UNC, NC St,. Clemson, VT, Duke, UVA, Maryland, Pitt
Away: BC, UNC, NC St., Clemson, VT, FSU, Miami, Wake, GT

Year 3
Home: BC, FSU, Miami, Wake, GT, UNC, NC St., Clemson, VT
Away: BC, FSU, Miami, Wake, GT, Duke, UVA, Maryland, Pitt

Horrible move by the ACC - Gross cannot be happy that Pitt was not chosen as our rival - lots more seats would be sold to see Pitt than BC - I could care less about seeing BC. Only good thing is you can pencil in 2 wins a year on our schedule.
