I will be utterly stunned if she is hired. Even if she was the most qualified candidate in the world - she was also a key player in the apparent Kent/John rift which led to turmoil and dysfunction. If she’s hired, it’ll be an ongoing situation since the alliances and enemy camps will remain set. The university needs a reset.

Having said that, any company I worked for would always go through an interview process, even if they were 98% sure of an internal candidate they were going to hire. One reason is you don’t want people to feel there is a “union line of progression” in management jobs; the other is occasionally an outside candidate will blow the committee away and justify changing plans.

She's definitely not the front runner, and most likely on her way to Michigan. I don't want her to take over here either.

You’re clearly behind the eight ball on the AD discussion, though I don’t blame you at all. There’s been a bazillion comments in various threads—as well as some inside info over the past few weeks—and it’s hard to follow. She’s not the frontunner anymore. Hopefully.

Unfortunately she does and they are mostly bad fast pass on her, send her packing with the one who hired her. The sooner the better for SU as a School and Athletic Department.

Because she shouldn't have been brought in at all, after being let go from Pitt. Syracuse shouldn't be a rehab center for someone who was fired elsewhere.

There were multiple Title IX investigations under her watch, only the WBKB one recently went public. Ironic that she is so demeaning to women. Thank heavens Blair was hired and someone put the HR Complaint out. Someone from SU should have asked Pitt about her background because there were plenty complaints there too.

After our new AD was named, I heard an interview on sports radio where whoever was being interviewed said several basketball coaching candidates had told him they would pass on Syracuse if Lyke was hired. And he said it so matter-of-fact like it wasn’t noteworthy. It appears her reputation amongst people in the know is as bad as it gets. Hiring her was probably viewed as an opportunity to rebrand so she’d be a viable candidate for JW when he was informed he’d decided to retire. It failed as spectacularly as possible.

Nice. Really though it will make my day when we hear about her termination prob sometime soon.

I’m assuming she’s probably already gone, albeit still getting paid as she rides out the financial terms of her contract.

Not fire her, but just parting ways due to a regime change. Just get rid of the never existed special advisory role.

That her position was created by Kent does it mean it can only be eliminated by the chancellor or can Blair remove the position?
