I'm excited to see what Morgan does with two weeks working with the 1's and I'm assuming/hoping we have some injuries healed up.
One down. One to go. Im hoping Tutu doesnt play. Hassan Hall has been out but he could be back this week.
After the horrendous performances against Duke and Liberty, Dino has righted the ship in the last three games. If we don't cover this spread against a team that will end up 3-8 assuming they beat us, IMO it will lose that goodwill he has built the last three weeks. You can't have two weeks to prep against a bad team and not keep it within 2 scores (16 points or less). That would be another red flag IMO.
It kind of is a sicknessoutside of the die hards on this board who else is even paying attention anymore?
Good thoughts. Without Hawkins and Atwell, the UL offense is not very good.I watched the UVA-UL game because I had UVA-3.5 and the UVA moved the ball with ease against Louisville. If we use RPOs up the middle we can get passes to the TE. Armstrong for UVA had a lot of passes in the middle of the field open and if they were covered he would scramble and make yards rushing.
Louisville though moved the ball on UVA almost every drive. They committed to many turnovers that allowed UVA to win. Cunningham scrambled a ton. He threw a stupid pick-6 in the first quarter but he was moving the ball.
UVA used a small RB Simpson to as an outlet in passing game. We should do the same.
I don’t feel confident in this game because I don’t think we can sustain drives. It’s just not happening.
Louisville didn’t get chunk plays against UVA D.
So I think our D can play especially if they don’t have Atwell.
Is Atwell gone? I haven't heard that.Good thoughts. Without Hawkins and Atwell, the UL offense is not very good.
Cunningham ended up 13-21 with 0 TDs and 1 pick, for only 161 yards. He does not appear to be able to throw the ball accurately. The new starting RB, a kid named Burkley, ran it 12 times for only 44 yards. The UL OL did not open holes for their run game and did not pass block well (UVa had 4 sacks and lots of hurries). Their offense was mostly Cunningham running on broken plays. He got 197 yards rushing on 20 carries.
I think we might want to just try and contain Cunningham, shut down their running game and make him beat us passing the ball. Their WRs are okay (Fitzpatrick, who almost came to SU, is their best now that Atwell is gone). If we can shut down their running game and make them one dimensional, we have a very good chance to win.
The UL defense is not very good at stopping the run but has been wildly inconsistent. They shut down ND on offense, did a good job on Pitt and FSU but VT got almost 300 yards running the ball against them 2 games ago. a bad UVa offense moved the ball and scored a lot against them and GT just destroyed their defense early in the season.
They have no punter (107th nationally in net punting) and are also very bad returning punts (95th).
Cunningham has been a turnover machine, leading the Cards to a huge turnover margin (118th in the country).
When they had Hawkins and a healthy Atwell, they were a team that could score with anyone but struggled to defend. Now, they are just a lousy team.

Didnt the little train win at Ville?I watched all of Grob and Shafer. This at least falls somewhere in between.

Yeah, but those guys got to try with no pandemic, no opt outs and full camps. True masterpieces.
Friday beers
18 point dogs in our best chance for a second win, yikes
They got to try with very little financial support, an aging dome, out of date athlete forms, a conference nobody cared about, equivalent of poor high school facilities and on and on.
Difference is today, every school is tasked with playing in the current climate and that includes coaches having to adapt to opt-outs and Covid. This isn’t some special circumstances the NCAA handed down to just SU. Even if it’s our excuse
Good points* asterisks for everyone!
In all seriousness, you can see that it's hitting different programs in different ways. PSU is winless, Indiana is a top 10 team, etc. We were setup for a building year no matter what. Call it what you want, I'm just not going to hold the coaching staff to the highest of expectations when so much is different/insane. Reasonable people should do the same.

No worries. I just thought it was helpful to provide some context to your narrative.
I actually went to the premiere of that movie. It was a tax advantaged deal to encourage Canadian film.And...
