SU to play Fordham in 2027

Who is nobody? Ask SEC fans and sports journalists covering the SEC what they think about the value of bowl eligibility when the 7-5 team is in the ACC and plays an OOC slate of Fordham, UConn, and Kent St.
As OX said, nobody cares.

You may be interested to know that in the last two years Fordham has victories over Holy Cross, Colgate and FBS Buffalo.
Fordham is 1-7 this season. This is not a great year for college football in New York State.

Yes. Tough year but fact remains the program has historically been at a representative level with other FCS programs we have played, has appeared in the FCS playoffs as recently as 2022 and has actually beaten 3 FBS teams including Buffalo, Temple and Army.

And their Seven Blocks of Granite teams featured NFL Hall of Famer Vince Lombardi.

I know. I know. I know. I know. I'm just reacting to my view of the optics. They may not even put the game on ACCNX.
Any FCS school w/scholies within 6 hrs of Cuse is G2G.

Which is funny because an SEC team with the exact same record and OOC might still somehow be ranked depending on how high they were ranked to start the season. How do we know they'd be ranked to start the season? Because they're in the SEC so majority of them are.

Also, no one in the SEC gives a rip about ACC teams aside from those that are better in areas the SEC exist. Clemson has been the best team in South Carolina for awhile now, and Miami FL or FSU on a given year are better that the Gators. Dawgs fans certainly haven't been losing sleep over GA Tech but they do appreciate the home and home series in Athens and when they take over Bobby Dodd. Could argue Lville and they're in state rivalry with UK but SEC fans don't really care about UK either so...

The top tier teams often seem to schedule their OOC patsies later in the season. I personally like a schedule that had a tough OOC game to start the season and put one of our easier OOC games later in the season. Sort of like an added bye week

In a perfect world, FBS teams would have the option to play one FCS exhibition game either in Week 0 or the week before to work out the kinks. And then FBS/FCS regular season games would be eliminated.
