Totally out of control, very dangerous, very European soccer mob mentality.

Four to six thousand people, 122 arrests, cops overwhelmed, stones, bottles and furniture hurled at them.

Drunk, disorderly, drugged up out of control.

Neighborhoods over run, children & residents fearful, property being trampled.

This is how you celebrate a football rivalry?

This year's Cortaca game might have been the last

Mayfest anyone?

I think I experienced the last actual Mayfest during my freshman year ('09).

What a day! Euclid was incredible. Funneling beers at random houses. Best day ever.

European soccer mob mentality? That crap really doesn't happen anymore, especially after the Taylor Report, Heysel, the Bradford City fire, etc.

Entitled college-kid mentality. That's a whole other story.

I was at Cortaca. I was in the middle of the "mob" on Clayton street at my friends house.

I'm from UB. I party a lot. I've been around crazy scenes and extremely drunk people.

As a 20 year old fun loving college student, I'll even say this was out of control. One of my close friends was hit in the head with the leg of a chair and hospitalized.

I witnessed kids throwing full and empty class bottles into the middle of the crowd, some hit people's heads.

I saw a kid chase a police officer through the streets with an axe.

I enjoyed my time, but it's really just staggering how kids can disregard there town and community. I don't know any school that parties as consistently and with such high demographics as UB in NY...

...But at least we don't shi- on our town. It was terrible.

this kinda looks like M Street after beating Miss St otherwise known as the best night ever

Looks like the football game was just an excuse to party and go crazy for a day. SUNY Albany students (and residents of the area) used to have a similar event -- minus the football game -- called Eggs and Kegs. It too came to a sorry conclusion. I enjoyed a good party back in the day but burning down the house was not part of the equation.

That's just it--it is not their town or their community--Cortland just happens to be a place where they go to school/party.

Great way to cement town and gown relationships! !Oh Lord

That Cortica Hell video is pretty unintentionally hilarious

Kids outside! Some of them are walking around .. IN THE STREET

i know terrible stuff happened but not in that video

To be honest I thought the police presence really escalated things. Before the police came everyone was just drinking and tossing around a football.

Now I don't have to tell you good folks what's been happening in our beloved little town. Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped. The time has come to act, and act fast. I'm leaving.

Lol

To be honest, there wasn't much of a drug presence there outside of alcohol either. Hardly saw any molly, coke or other drugs of the type.

Most houses didn't let kids in if they had drugs with them.

How times have changed? During my undergrad and post-grad years i attended many parties that make these videos look like a Cabbage Patch Xmas. The uproar seems a little over the top based upon what i just watched. If innocent people were hurt then its a different story but i'm not seeing that in the video.

As long as they didn't tear down the OTB in Cortland... :)

Goes from a great time to being out of control very very quickly. I have a buddy who is Tompkins County Sheriff that was called in, said it was most of control scene he had ever been part of

Don't kid yourself. I am willing to bet there were plenty of drugs around. It's unfortunate as it is a great rivalry

Cops were hit with rocks, dozens of people were treated in hospitals for injuries suffered there were TV's thrown at people from rooftops. Did you have 4-6,000 people, many out of control at your parties?

At one point you could see as many as 10-20 bottles and cans being thrown in the air at that group shown in the picture above. If I had to guess I'd say at least 20-40 kids were probably injured by projectiles. Many things were being throws from cans, bottles, furniture, footballs, stuffed animals, pots, pans ...it was out of control.

Call me distasteful, but that visual is hilarious.
You should have seen the sorority running around with pots on there heads to protect themselves from projectiles.

I just watched video 1 and video 3 and those things weren't shown, just alot of kids drinking in a crowded place and acting like fools. didn't see the out of control stuff in those videos. if it was worse than depicted then i take back my prior comments about the craziness of this party but i'll stand by my prior statement that i've been to similiar/bigger outdoor college parties where it didn't require 20 police cars to disband/create control. And my undergrad was in the SUNY system too.
