I'll start shedding tears of happiness if we continue to build connections in Bama, Ohio and Georgia.

its easier and cheaper to recruit closer to home. if we start getting A List players out of NJ and PA again we'll be doing just fine.
And if we can grab the 1 or 2 of the Top 5 CT recruits is key also. We still need to grab 4-5 FL kids each year. Doubtful we'll ever pull a 4 or 5 star out of FL but FL's 3 stars will get you into bowl games.

Exactly. No need to worry about local recruiting being cheaper. Need to get the talent to compete with the rest of the ACC.

i'm most concerned about the geographical gap in QB play. there are enough athletes around to teach other skill positions but we need to recruit QBs that have already thrown 10 billion passes. those guys aren't in the NE

nobody worries about it being cheaper, it just is. not just for the coaching budget but the kids to. you see all the jersey kids coming up for spring practices, how many florida kids are? it's easier to recruit closer to home and when we did we could compete with anybody.

you need talent to compete, i don't think it matters where it comes from, I'm perfectly fine with georgia kids over florida.

Agreed. What difference does it matter where the talent comes from, never understood the hand wringing over geography. I agree with Millhouse, find a qb that has thrown the ball quite a bit as well, not a kid that passes 5-6 times a game. Which it seems they did with the kid from Oregon and they took a flyer on the kid from Bama. recruit qb's from anywhere but they will be fine recruiting closer to home, if they wina few more games and have the right coaches recruiting. either way, I don't care abut the geography of the whole mess
