SWC is gone

Heartbroken. Never met Steve, but read and listened to him for so long. When someone’s a part of your routine for 20 years, they’ve left a mark.

Rest well, SWC.
So true. I got so much knowledge from his post. His writeups are as good as any business overviews as I have ever seen. I can't imagine the amount of research and time he put into them. I always tried to thank him as so many did. For me there have been so many members of this community that are special. We have now lost three legends. All unique, very different from each other. Each one of them providing so much fun and interest. Each one a gift that could make your day with one of their post. Our communities loss. Heavens gain.

This is so sad. I never met him but always looked forward to reading his posts. Thinking of his family and friends during this difficult time.

An absolute board legend and one of the people who have helped make this place one of the best spots on the Internet. RIP. Glad he saw a great football season before going out.

A gentleman, not common in our times. The salt of a person is how he behaves when he need not behave. These forums provide anonymity but Steve never took refuge in opportunities for lesser manners. Not to mention his dedication and competency.

So sad. The board will not be the same without its bored historian. He was pure class.

I also found it admirable, in our worst season in 60 years, he would still do all his write-ups, the coaches show etc when obviously his health was failing him. He almost made it to the bitter end, “bowing out” only when his condition made it impossible. Just amazing.

Condolences to his friends and family.

I am also glad he got to hear a little at the end about how he meant a lot to so many in the fanbase. Wow, what a positive impact he had.
