SWC is gone

SWC died last night (3/17) at 9:30.

Steve passed as he had wished. He fell asleep and didn't wake up.

For the past few weeks, there has been some discomfort but no significant pain. He has been in and out of sleep for the last several days.

RIP and thank you for your board contributions over the years brotha. Go Orange. Hope they save the last question for him at the next coaches show.

If there isn't a Fan Hall of Fame, There should be one and Steve would be a founding member.

Axe wants to do a piece on Steve. If anyone knew him well and would like to say a few words about him, either each out to Axe on the socials or text him if you're an Insider. Or, ping me, and I'd be happy to help connect you.

While I never spoke to him, he spoke to each and every one of us.

Informed us, enlightened us, made our days a little bit better.

He's irreplaceable. Deepest sympathies to his loved ones which, come to think of it, include each and every one of us.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I had the chance to visit with Steve for a few minutes yesterday when I was volunteering. It meant a lot to be able to meet him in person and share how much he meant to so many. I can only hope that he knew how big of an impact he had on so many of us. He will be missed.

What a sad day. RIP Steve, you were a fixture of this board since the day I joined more than a decade ago. Will miss your knowledge and history of Syracuse sports.
