SWC is gone

SWC died last night (3/17) at 9:30.

Steve passed as he had wished. He fell asleep and didn't wake up.

For the past few weeks, there has been some discomfort but no significant pain. He has been in and out of sleep for the last several days.

I never met Steve, but I am sure he knew that he was appreciated. I replied to every one of his coaches reports and told him that he made my day. He always replied back. Sorry he is gone.

I’ve been around SU sports for awhile, but learned so much from the historical perspective Steve was able to provide.

I had the chance to visit with Steve for a few minutes yesterday when I was volunteering. It meant a lot to be able to meet him in person and share how much he meant to so many. I can only hope that he knew how big of an impact he had on so many of us. He will be missed.
