Symir Injury Updates...

JB said tonight during his 3 shows, Learfield, 99K Rock and CuseSportsTalk.com that Sy is going to try and play vs. Wake
He said on one of them “he may be out for awhile”.

Yeah, but why is it that so many of our guys get chronic injuries that last a month or two of the season? Because they coach never sits them, so they can get more treatment and maybe rest for a week and get better.

Soccer coaches, where people play even more compressed schedules (3 games a week vs. 2 games a week for NCAA hoops), when players get muscular injuries, giving them time off avoids or lessens the likelihood of the injury becoming a chronic issue.

When Quincy was unable to jump for defensive rebounds, and was mostly locking arms with guys to try to get rebounds, was that really the best guy we could have put out there - a guy who couldn't jump? If he was unable to jump, how well do you think he was moving laterally?

That's what I was talking about. Basketball is not football. Muscle injuries recover faster with treatment and rest, or else they become chronic. Roster mismanagement in a different form.

What you were talking about is players leaving because JB made them play hurt.

True. Kids want to play - the medical staff has the final say if they can or not. Rather ironic that the football board was going nuts on SU’s doctor for disqualifying players for injuries that parents, players, and many fans wanted to continue to play. Some of those same fans are taking an opposite stance now. Hmm .
This is ridiculous. I mean defend Boeheim but this is ridiculous
DQing players ends their careers.

Matt Moyer sitting games out hurt isn’t ending his career.
When we have a coach whom coaches every game like its game 7. Yeah he would want every player available even if they aren’t 100% and because we have a short rotation. A player could be cleared but not feel well enough to play.

My god. Can’t say anymore. Your point is comparing being injured to having their careers ended.

Moyer, Grant are two. Evidence of us playing people hurt are Coleman, Guerrier, Chukwu and so many others who had high ankle sprains that never seem to get better because they are never rested.

Moyer nor Grant left Syracuse because they were made to play hurt.

"There's nothing wrong", said Boeheim. "He's just not healthy enough to play", after playing him in the first half of the game, before Grant could no longer go on.

The next day, Annette asked Matthew about his swollen hand, but he told her it felt fine. When the swelling didn’t stop shortly after, though, Annette made an executive decision for the high school freshman. X-rays revealed a broken wrist.

“The team was more important to Matthew than Matthew’s health was important to Matthew,” Annette said.

Now, she explained, Moyer finds himself in a similar situation.

On Sunday, before the Wake Forest game, Moyer ruled himself out after consulting with his parents because of lingering pain from the high-ankle sprain sustained on Jan. 24 against Boston College.

Point? That’s why he went pro?

Point? Did you read the whole article? Is this why he transferred to Vandy?

This whole discussion is borderline silly. We should stick to complaining about recruiting, roster make-up, program downturn, coach being mean and not create a story that cruel Boeheim makes injured team members play and then they leave the program.

Transfers leave for a variety of reasons and not because they are forced to take the court and further injure themselves. Moyer left because Mom was not happy how he was being used and frankly was a little too involved. Grant left because he got $

Point - Did you ever quit a job, or get fired? Did you speak poorly of your former boss(es) to your new boss, or to the media?

So what I reading is that if bench players get an owie they will get to play more? Who knew.

Did your mother talk nicely about your boss after getting fired and get quoted in an article? His mom was quoted. You even edited the actual article about Matt having a broken wrist without mentioning that this had nothing to do with Boeheim nor SU because it occurred in high school playing AAU. Not good. Uggh.

It literally said “as a freshman in high school”.

How is the stew cooking?
Well, the heat was up a little too high and it almost got scorched so it had to be put in a new pot and is just coming back to a simmer. It didn't actually get burned so I think it's going to be a really great pot of stew.

Was the heat turned up too high or where the same ingredients used a little too much and the chef realizing maybe he should have diversified the stew?

The stew needs a lot of flavors to be successful unless those flavors are spectacular and not just a little better than average. More flavors help in those situations.
But we shall see if the final stew is better than average this season or subpar.

Yes it is still cooking, and the Chef we have has never turned out a bad stew.

Our chef also typically made 4 star stews, with a lot of 5 star stews and a few 3 star stews but typically 4 star stews.

Now he is making a lot of 3 star stews while not acknowledging that the 4 star stews are gone never mind the 5 star stews and acting like the 3 star stews are actually 4 star stews.
