Syracuse +13.5 vs. Tennessee

I tried listening to a few Vols podcasts today. These guys and the fans are delusional. Some saying Tennessee going to win by 50. Do they not realize they return less on offense than we do. Yeah, their D will look good, but I still think Nixon is going to find a way to move the ball. I’m taking the under and SU to win by 3. I think Joey A throws a pick when trying to press late which seals the game for SU.
I watched one today where the guy said they were going to have possibly 5, 8 or even 10 sacks. The most sacks they had all of last year was 4

I'm 75 and remember that game back whenever when Syracuse was leading Tennessee 32 to 30 and stopped them on fourth down... then a late flag for a very BS "pass interference"penalty gave them a first down, leading to a game winning field goal. Still stings because Tennessee went on to win the Nat. championship.
Will Allen with the bogus PI call.

Short passing game, and running. If we throw enough to allow that many sacks were are way too far behind anyway.

This isn't new, but in case you're not aware, Vols top CB tore his ACL in January. Returned to practice, but as of a few weeks ago, was not running full speed. No word yet if he's playing on Saturday.
A couple weeks ago he was doing individual drills at practice. Of course they're not going to say for sure that he's going to play, but I would expect it.

Never liked adding this game to the schedule.

It is a great opportunity, I will give you that. If we win it will spring board our season. At the same time, I don’t think we are ready yet. I don’t think the program is there.

Had we scheduled a MAC team instead, I think we would have had a chance to be ranked going into Clemson. A good chance to be ranked going into SMU. And a great chance at being ranked going into GA Tech. I also think a Bowl isn’t a question mark.

I’m gonna take the homer unreasonable view that our line surprises everyone holding their own against Tenn, Angeli is poised and we move the ball with Nixon going with a smart game plan and taking advantage of Tenn being over aggressive when they can’t get home early. Aguilar then struggles and hands over free points to the effect of a shocking double digit win as Tenn abandons their run game too quickly.

Heupel and NIL seem to have broken the Rocky top streak of disappointment but it’s still Tennessee and they still have plenty of recent history of crashing and burning against expectations.

They lost their best pass rusher and their top tackler and are a little thin in the secondary. I don’t think defensively they are as good as they were last year.

Tennessse Fan / YT Analyst that I think is fairly honest:
