I know it’s a bad ranking but the selection committee does take it into consideration when seeding the tournament

I think, at least early in the season, it is heavily weighted by online poll support by each team’s fans.
BPI follows a formula like RPI. Not fans voted poll. And the score margin matters unlike RPI. And we only played one game and won by just one point. It is very hard to believe we can be ranked 15th in the nation.
 
it's kind of meaningless, but here is the abridged explanation:
in the preseason, ratings are built on four factors:
  • Quantity of experience on roster (including transfers)
  • Quality of that experience
  • Recruiting rankings for incoming freshmen, with extra emphasis on five-star players
  • Coach's past performance
in short, su is 35th nationally in minutes continuity according to kenpom, we added a high quality transfer and we have one of the greatest coaches in ncaa history

But we really dominated the Josh Hough poll and all the ACC all time polls on twitter. They have to play a factor, no?
