Syracuse and Army schedule 4 game series

No idea.

Do you think if all of the local media, fans, players, and even his neighbors start to act like it's an inevitability - that it wouldn't have an effect on him?
When those conversations happen, it will still be clear that everyone wants him to stay. I'm sure his neighbors and every fan he encounters in the community will be begging him to stay. If Babers is successful, he will feel the love of the Syracuse community. If he leaves, it will not be the fault of defeatist fans. The self-fulfilling prophecy idea is nonsense.

I didn't say it would be the fault of defeatist fans, I said it might play a part.

I think it's not just his own teams losing culture he has to deal with. The stuff I'm talking about precedes the conversations you're talking about. It will begin at any whiff of success, spurned on by click bait headlines.

And it's already in the air nationally "yeah, but how long will he stay at Syracuse" ... He himself stated that Briles was the only guy that said he should take this job.

It may not be a big part, but it's not nonsense either.

Indeed. I'm revising my position. It might lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

And it's virtually unprovable. Not the kind of sword I'm going to die on.

This round of "Semantics on Syracusefan.com™" was won by Donnie. Congrats. You can pick up your thesaurus at the welcome desk.

Cool way to get to the game

West Point Football Ferry | Army Football Ferry

An incredible way to get to an incredible football experience
Watching a game at West Point’s Michie Stadium is one of the greatest experiences in all of sports. Add a luxury catamaran fall foliage cruise through the New York Harbor and up the scenic Hudson River to the mix and you’ve got a dream come true. Seastreak ferries will bypass all the traffic from New Jersey and Manhattan while you relax and visit with your friends and family on your way to see Army Football at West Point. We set sail 45 minutes after the game ends back to Wall St., NYC and Atlantic Highlands, NJ. While onboard, enjoy refreshing cocktails, cold beer, soft drinks, and snacks. Relax on the open-air top deck, or the climate-controlled interior deck while watching pre-game and post-game coverage on the large screen TVs.

That sounds awesome. Especially for someone like me that is an out of stater now, I can plan a NYC vacation trip and include that as part of it.

I wish Donovan didn't do the salute. I am sure he meant no harm but it was poor judgement on his part.

Enjoyed seeing all the plebes (hope that is the right word) in the Dome. Great atmosphere. Look forward to seeing them there again. Hope there will also be a bunch of 10 Mountain Division troops there. I hope they root for Syracuse.

Really look forward to visiting the West Point campus again. It is one of my favorite road trips...

Love the growing ties between SU and Army. It is something that is good for both places.

Donny did that due to the countless times he was hit while on the ground. The refs let the late hits go far too often.

That might be, but it wasn't the right way to handle that situation. McNabb was a great player but sometimes made some bad decisions.

This was one of them.
