bcubs9497 I have no idea what the thought process is right now for you guys. I want to say this though, no matter what happens I will cheer for your son and your family wholeheartedly.

If he plays at another school, I will watch and cheer intently. If he never plays again, I'll root for him and your family as people.

Facing the end of your career is mentally one of the hardest things I ever did, and I had nowhere near the ability nor experience of Steven. I'm truly sorry that this decision has come prematurely for Steven here at Syracuse.

Tucker is simply unqualified to make any serious athletic medical decisions based upon and benchmarked against other university medical programs. This low end amateur process needs correcting soon. Was supposed to be changed before Wildhack was hired...

So the Clarks have two specialists who say otherwise. Why not toss it to some specialist in NYC or at the Cleveland Clinic?
This is a tough problem. The University has to look out for both the player and the school. In high school, our dr wouldn't let anyone play because he was afraid of a lawsuit. Having said that, we can't have players dr shopping like Reggie Lewis did. I think Steve is a terrific player and I am sick for him. To be denied playing a sport he loves is not fair. But we don't know what the dr's know either. Good luck to him.

So sorry to hear this. I know you and your son were confident it would resolve itself. I won't get into the SU medical thing or try to judge your doctors in Alabama. I'll just say I know several people here in the medical field including some at HOA and other areas such as cardiology who refer out to hematologists when necessary. To them, Difino is viewed as the best hematologist in the area.

Very sorry to hear Steve.

I have really enjoyed watching Steven play and hopefully there is some slim path toward that continuing here at SU.

But if not, he's going to be a great football player somewhere else. Will follow his career wherever that is and always root for him.

Thanks for everything you've brought to this board the past couple years and I can only hope that will continue.

You've really elevated the experience here, much as Steven has elevated the toughness and strength of the defense against some very tough odds on the field.

I hope Steven takes his RS this year.
Graduates and goes and plays 2 years somewhere else.

I get protecting liability but I trust the father knows best for his son and if he thinks his son is safe and been cleared he should be allowed to play. The Syracuse concussion protocol and now this stresses the school is fearful of litigation at all cost.

I really don't like to speak for doctors and their opinions because at the end of the day, I just don't know.

All of that being said, we have enough hills to climb in order to build a successful football program.

If the medical staff is even a mole hill to climb for any number of reasons, that's way too high.

That was suggested by Steven's mom; it was dismissed.

That's what we think, and I stated as such, in a MOST unflattering manner.
When does UAB start back up?
Have your son Get a RS and graduate. Get the hell out and tell the doctor good day sir.
