Syracuse Parts Ways with Adrian Autry [Official]

I'm wrong about things all the time, but I can say in good faith that the Autry hire felt awful to me from Day 1. It just felt like the laziest possible move we could have made. "Oh, well he's on campus and already here, let's just give him a chance and see what happens."
All the more bizarre when they would not even consider GMAC who JAB pushed for.
It was just an incredibly lazy thing to do.

Red wanted this chance, it is no shame that he wasn't up to the test.
A lot of good assistants cant make it as a head coach.

May he find a good assistant job and get his confidence back.
And hopefully the ability to smile again.
He has looked so broken and old the last 2 years.

Why would any AD candidate want to come to Cuse if they can not pick the new Bball coach.

It just never made sense.
Don't be dense. They are. WIldhack ends his tenure, new person picks up with new hire. Its most likely been in the works for a while. They aren't starting today.

You should not be so dense. Please re-read this thread knucklehead and then you will understand my comment.

They didn’t want to pay a relocation package

Maybe as part of the interview process, that's happening, theyve asked the candidate basketball question and what their plan would be; coaches they'd put on the short list.

He's a very good person. He's been a major part of SU success since he selected Syracuse over basically every other school in the country. I'm sorry it didn't work out for him
“Following a legend.” Nearly a decade of mediocrity is what Autry was being compared against and he still couldn’t achieve that. It’s not like he took over for JB in 2013 and just couldn’t do it.
