Syracuse Parts Ways with Adrian Autry [Official]

The only legacy guy that should get some interest is Jason Hart, currently with UK. He’s got great experience as an assistant coach and has been away from SU so long that he doesn’t need Febreze.

Luke Murray would be like “groundhogs day”. Another first time head coach. That didn’t work out well before.
well, just because one is an assistant coach and the other was an assistant coach doesn't mean that all assistant coaches fail as first time hires.

Syracuse University is committed to returning men's basketball to the national prominence this program has long represented. The university will conduct a thorough and expedient search for the program's next head coach.

"We are going to move quickly and with purpose," says Wildhack. "This is one of the most storied programs in college basketball, and we intend to hire a proven winner who will build on that legacy. We are looking for a coach who can recruit at the highest level, develop players and compete for championships, conference and national. Syracuse fans deserve nothing less, and that is exactly what we are going to deliver."
That's a great quote.

John Wooden is not walking through the door. Coach K is not walking thru the door. Dan Hurley (blechhh) is not walking through the door.
Who IS walking through that door?

I would take G-Mac over Hart in a second. What has Hart won as a HC?

Gotta say, as a cantankerous middle-aged fan who remembers when college basketball was good, I can't imagine how a talented four-year McD's All-America from the '90s successfully transitions to the NIL era. Obviously guys do it, but it must be surreal.

"I played with John Wallace and Lawrence Moten for Big East championships, we won 100+ games in four years. You guys make six figures a year and can't execute a decent skip pass."

Credit due for not routinely losing his cool. Weird times.

Undoubtedly, this falls in that; 'truer words have never been spoken' category.

"Weird times" is you also, IMO, being quite diplomatic. How about lunacy! Those are far more honest relative to the times, IMO. I mean, all of these dudes have to literally be pinching themselves daily that this fantasy type life they are living, is actually reality nowadays.

The proof in the pudding, and this guy won the Heisman this year and national championship to boot, is the 60 minutes interview of Mendoza after beating OSU in the B1G championship game. He appeared rather giddyish when acknowledging being paid 2M or along those lines to play for IU this year.

It reminded my of the scene in 'Field of Dreams' where Ray Liotta (Shoeless Joe) stated; "I would've played for lunch money!"
