I was at the SJU / Providence game at MSG today for my son getting his 2024 Big East Championship ring for baseball and DAMN I miss Big East hoops!! The atmosphere was amazing and Kadary was ridiculous. Attached is Jed (Mr. Boots) sporting the monter ring.

I was 7th row as part of the parent of the baseball players and it was electric. Iso want this again for SU hoops.

I got quite a bit of heat when we joined the ACC, leaving the big East because I believed rather than it meaning the demise of the Big East, as many on the board claimed, that they would do fine without having to worry and deal with football issues. They have a single priority - basketball, and there now wouldn’t be any diversions, time, compromises, conference additions etc to appease the football members. They are a group of smaller like institutions whose legacy and priorities all revolved around just one major sport - basketball and their fans. Why would the basketball only colleges continue to sacrifice, prioritize and divert their resources to help the football priority schools any more than the football schools would prioritize the basketball only colleges and their more singular needs? It’s worked out fairly well for them as I thought it would - their fans and students are devoted. Basketball is really their entire identity and history.

All of this is why schools should be able to join different conferences for different sports.
Would be great to be back in the BE where Orange hoops belongs.
(Although it wouldn't help this season).

And SJU is tough team.
You know Pitino will have them back in the Final Four at some point.

If we hired Pitino instead of Red we would have the electric atmosphere in the Dome. Plus, I believe he'd schedule a couple of OOC games in MSG.
1. Pitino recruits.
2. His system produces success. Everywhere.
3. He knows how to excite/persuade boosters to provide the NIL $$.

All qualities we must make sure to have in our next HC.

You know you truly miss something when you STILL miss it years later. By the way, when was the last time we won a game in NYC? It used to be automatic.
I'm pretty sure it was the second-to-last time we played UConn there in the beginning of the 2017-18 season. Our last two games at MSG were against UConn November 2018 (I was there and it was absolutely miserable), and against Nova a couple years ago.

Providence and St John’s was electric? I’m depressed.

Congrats to your kid. That’s awesome.

Ed Cooley lost his cool? Hmm . Last week it was Bobby Hurley losing it.

#1 with the yellow shoes having a game for the Johnnies
18/10 boards/8 assists. Just had a big block too
The kid finally looks really motivated - great all round game for him.

I was unsure how it would play out, but once they got to keep the Big East name, the tourney in MSG, and a TV contract with Fox - it was pretty clear the Big East wasn't going to wither and die.
