Tenn QB Nico Iamaleava transferring to UCLA

I don’t want this kid anywhere near our progrum right now
I don’t think we need to worry about that. I heard a former UT player talking on a radio show and it sounds like Nico’s dad was a major distraction to his son and the UT staff, etc. Apparently he’s been like this for as long as Nico’s been playing organized sports. No way Fran would put up with this guy. If he took Nico, he would insist on muzzling dad, which won’t happen.

This guy also said that dad was shopping Nico since the OSU game, something Hueppel told Lanning when he called. The situation came to a head when Nico followed his dad’s order, skipped practice, and ghosted the staff. Hueppel ended the relationship right there. Trust was lost. Dad did Nico no favors.

Any truth to that Clay Travis report? I like to think not, but should we be expecting a 24/7 post that we’re officially out of the running for him?

In the spring tho?
Yes, Jordan Addison to USC to play w Caleb Williams who probably recruited to join him. It all went down after spring ball around NFL draft time

Narduzi claimed tampering against Riley

Wow I kind of feel for Narduzzi there.

One more for good measure

Wow a sports caster had takes that went wrong... Shocking. Literally any radio host has hundreds of bad takes if they've been doing it long enough. It's an opinion, some work out, some fail. And I posted earlier, he sure as heck was right about Schiano.

Agreed. For better or worse it’s his job to make bold statements, generate engagement and grow his brand.

Plus I think it did feel like the end of Harbaugh at one point

Hey you know what? he wasnt the only saying the Chip Kelly hire was a home run. I thought it too. Many folks said USC needed to hire Chip when they were going through Kiffin and Sark.

And Harbaugh did look to be circling the drain, he had a serious Urban Meyer/OSU issue and had a losing season in 20. Urban moves on and things change.

Players need to know that they don't hold all the cards and life can blow up in your face if you are not careful.

He had a great spot, Tennessee was taking care of him and he cut himself off. A little loyalty would have bought him coverage for the next year or two and he would likely get drafted with a nice payday. No, who knows.
If he had a good season at Tennessee, and let’s say they made the playoff again, he would be revered in that state for the rest of his life. He could run for mayor. He could do car commercials and speaking engagements forever. Ultimately it would have bankrolled his life. But he tossed it for a chance at another million this year - one year. People are idiots.

Apparently, part of UT's frustration with Nico was that he often failed to show up for events related to his NIL deal.
