Tenn QB Nico Iamaleava transferring to UCLA

Very well could improve since he was starting as a freshman but he was mid last year. I could be dead wrong but sometimes you can tell if it’s just being thrown into the fire or not having it. I lean towards the latter but they’re surrounded with studs and a great offensive mind/QB coach in Hepuel. I like getting them week 1
Knowing our luck this will actually hurt us. LOL

1- I love how they say contract negotiations. I understand that’s kind of what it is, but contracts are still illegal.

2- my guess is he is trying to get something before the settlement because then there should be regulations on this stuff.

That settlement part isn't something I thought about, but makes complete sense. Wonder if he's asking for his extra cash up front before is passes.

Whatever it takes to eek out a win

Tennessee will probably just throw a bag at some other teams starting QB and end up with someone better than him. This may work in their favor while really pissing off some unlucky fanbase who thought they were set at qb.
At the very least it will light a fire and unify UT behind the new guy similar to UNLV last year

You would be, but you're not a modern college athlete. These guys know the game now. And you don't care so much what the backup QB thinks if the starter stays. What you care about are the other 10 starters he plays with. If they get paid, they don't care. If his negotiating leads to more booster investment that can get spread around, you love him for it.
Or his negotiating may mean less money available for others. Either way if he leaves he is abandoning his teammates and I am sure there will be mixed feelings about that.

I know i say some harsh things once in a while but if i was coach, this kid would never walk in my football building ever again. This is exactly why this stuff pisses me off. He is gonna do the same thing next year where ever he goes and whomever gets him isnt that smart.
