Tennessee Gameday...

I get all the hate on ERob, but we don't have any dudes on defense. At least last year we had guys like Wax, Cinco, and Barron. Our talent level on that side of the ball is extremely poor.

Our HC was a DB coach. I gotta trust him as a talent evaluator. He hyped Samuels a lot. Duce and Grant are vets. We have some pieces.

There’s also an opening here for Syracuse….Tenn knows they have this game in the bag and have already had 10 guys go down with injury….it wouldn’t be shocking for them to take foot off gas.

really don't matter if the other side does it . you ask yourself if that's who you want to be.

We needed Tennessee to be the team that came in and was bit unprepared, still trying to figure things out, having tackling and penalty issues and finding their footing. Unfortunately we are that team, on the road. Hope we can improve in the second half, clean some things up and hit the ground running for the UCONN game next week

Offense seemed to settle in as nicely as you could hope against an elite defense in a “neutral site” (away game) in the season opener as you could hope. Defense however looks as disgusting as ever. Erob cannot simply do the same exact things he did last year and expect different results. This defensive scheme might work if he was at an Alabama, an Lsu, a Clemson with 5 star DTs and edges. We don’t have that. Blitz. Stunt. Disguise your pressure. For the love of everything do anything but bring 4 and be shocked when the QB has 10 seconds to find an open receiver. And I didn’t even mention the tackling….

Keep the kids head in it and don’t hand it over to Tennessee and make them earn it then get to work. There is certainly talent to work with. E Rob though has to clean things up quickly. It’s year 2 and the same issues persist.
See that's the thing. Expecting E Rob to make bigger improvements in his coaching in a week than he made in an off-season is not realistic. We're running it back with his scheme and play calling strategy, it appears.

Not that it matters but we should have taken the play clock down waaay lower our last scoring drive and left them with minimal time. They’d probably have scored anyway but process matters
For some reason Nixon keeps going away from the power run. And when he does he puts his kid in.
