Good morning from Italy!

I MC’d my friend’s wedding near Perugia on Thursday, now I’m with a crew in Tuscany for the long weekend.

Found a bar in Chiusi that will open early for us at 5:30 tonight and let me play the game, so I will be indoctrinating 9 of my friends into Cuse fandom, as well as any locals that wander in.

Feeling good about today.

Some thoughts on the game…

UT has a great offensive scheme. Heumpel is a great offensive mind. He will have them playing fast and put a lot of pressure on our defense to make plays in space. We are going to have to play press coverage against big, very fast athletes. We are going to have to tackle well, line up properly and avoid penalties.

I can’t see us holding them to less than 20 points. That is the best case scenario. In order to do that, we are going to have to force some turnovers, put pressure on Aguilar in passing downs and do a reasonable job shutting down their running game. It is a lot to ask for a defense with a lot of new faces. Especially in an opening game, at the neutral site where 95% of the fans will be hostile.

We have to be able to run the ball. We have to control the ball for extended periods of time. We have to make some big plays on offense and at least hold our own in special teams.

Angeli is going to have to rescue some plays with his feet and be able to hit receivers running for his life. The OL has to give him time and open some holes for the RBs.

It is a lot to ask.

My head says it isn’t going to happen but I am an irrational fan and in my head, we have a chance. I hope we play well and neither team suffers any serious injuries. Go Cuse! War Damn Otto!

Why tf does everyone love Georgia tech?

They are one of those teams that are everyone's perpetual sleeper or program that should be good. I think they'll be solid, but I'm not impressed with Key as a coach. That said, good win last night.

If they had Fran and all of our pieces, pundits would be calling them a potential playoff team.

After watching other games I just hope we have ball control and if we can limit turnovers on our end, I can see us doing alright.

Originally was thinking something like 31-27 but wouldn't be surprised to see it more like 23-20

As always we can't turn the ball over. We have to be plus in the turnover catagory Probably plus 2 to win. Our team has plenty of talent but Tennessee has more. We have decent depth. Tennessee is deeper. I believe that we have a better QB and if we can pressure their QB into mistakes we have a chance.
