Being very good on the field, being famous and the value of that athlete's NIL are inextricably linked, though.But it's pretty obvious that the biggest booster checks are aimed at securing or rewarding athletic performance ... i.e., compensating kids that boosters think will deliver team wins. And that is not the really NIL; it's 'pay-for-play'.
