I know a guy who lost a DI football scholarship when he was busted selling drugs. Did time…turned his life around; now he goes around to high schools talking to football teams in preseason taking about the importance of doing things the right way and how not doing that cost him big time in life.
So I’m a believer in second chances…but in my story above, I don’t think it would have played out that way if he’d gotten a slap on the wrist and kept playing DI football. Second chances are great as long as there’s legitimate consequences when you screw up. Don’t have enough info here to know what “legitimate consequences” would be, so we’ll see how this plays out as more info is an available.
Third chances are stupid.
