HCDB may be at the top of every HC job opening, but he is no fool. He has rebuilt SU, he is not stepping backwards to rebuild a mediocre (UMD) or worse (Rutgers) team. There are only a few jobs that may entice him and the circumstances would be as important as the job itself.
ADJW has already signaled he will take care of HCDB. HCDB has installed his system, recruited his players and has the gears moving together. Yes, there is some fine tuning that will happen over the next couple years, but SU is built for perpetual performance.
Considerations HCBD, and every other coach will have to consider, in no particular order:
1) Stability
2) Time to implement system
3) Fan support (recall, this is wishy washy, Bama fans will not tolerate a Saban with 4 losses in a season)
4) Academics (HCDB cares about his players, he wants them to succeed in life, not just a few years on the field)
5) Pay (for him and staff)
6) Cost of living (remember, living in LA like he does in Syracuse will cost millions more just to stay at the same level - Housing is off the charts)
7) Quality of living
8) Age
9) Do you want the problem again?
10) What does the wife/family want?
And probably many more factors to consider.
