We worry about South Florida kids adjusting to Syracuse in winter... Imagine the shock of a Dade County kid going to Lincoln Nebraska
Weather? We got it worse than Lincoln I'm afraid. We worry about South Florida kids adjusting to Syracuse in winter... Imagine the shock of a Dade County kid going to Lincoln Nebraska
Well, at least we’re not in Nebraska?Weather? We got it worse than Lincoln I'm afraid.
Yeah...I said weather.Well, at least we’re not in Nebraska?
Summer and Fall in Cuse is gorgeous. We live within 6 hours of 4 world class cities and arguably one of the nations most national parks and a lot more to offer
Kids aren't leaving campus for that stuff.Well, at least we’re not in Nebraska?

Wait... what? College football players aren't choosing schools based upon proximity to national parks? That seems like crazy talk to me.Kids aren't leaving campus for that stuff.
Are you familiar with Nebraska's climate? It's colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than Upstate New York.Weather? We got it worse than Lincoln I'm afraid.
Ok.Are you familiar with Nebraska's climate? It's colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than Upstate New York.
"Nebraska has a humid continental type of climate (Köppen climate classification Dfa) in the east and semi-arid (Köppen BSk) in the west. Summers are hot and humid, while winters are cold and icy."
We do get more snow.
Yeah, but cold combined with 120 inches of snow is far worse than just cold alone. Are you familiar with Nebraska's climate? It's colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than Upstate New York.

Weather being bad or good is all relative. My son snowboards and loves the cold and snow. Introduce out of staters to some of the fun stuff during the winter and then it’s not an issue. Further snow and cold in winter far better than tornados/hurricanes and crap you get just about everywhere else. At least when you get a storm in Syracuse you don’t need to climb on your roof and write an SOS sign. As you can tell hearing about people always kevetching about Syracuse weather gets a bit old.Yeah, but cold combined with 120 inches of snow is far worse than just cold alone.
I personally enjoy it. Get to really experience the full four season effect in CNY (I'm sure that's not everyone's cup of tea).Weather being bad or good is all relative. Tell your son to fire up the snowblower or hop in the plow truck for a few hours that will cut into his snowboarding time each time we get pummelled, let me know how he likes it then.Weather being bad or good is all relative. Dude I have lived here for decades. Ya either like winter or ya don’t. Sorry it seems to be hard for you. Try Florida?Tell your son to fire up the snowblower or hop in the plow truck for a few hours that will cut into his snowboarding time each time we get pummelled, let me know how he likes it then.
Someone visiting a snowy area is irrelevant, living here is different.
I have lived here all my life, born and raised. I comparing it to any other area of the country is folly because there really is nowhere like it.Dude I have lived here for decades. Ya either like winter or ya don’t. Sorry it seems to be hard for you. Try Florida?
You may think that's funny but it's snot.Ask Syracuse University why they are spending 115 million on a roof, it snot because denizens of syracuse love snow and cold.
It’s not irrelevant when you are talking about teenage recruits. Sorry I thought the discussion was focused on that. That is why I cited my teenage son as an example. There is plenty of fun stuff for teenagers to do here during the winter, you just have to be open to trying new experiences. In addition as an adult I have no problems in the winter because snow and cold just don’t bother me that much. Syracuse hoops, skiing, eating out, drinking, snow mobiling, hunting, snowboarding, checking out hot chicks while skiing and snow boarding...anyway you get the picture. Cheers.I have lived here all my life, born and raised. I comparing it to any other area of the country is folly because there really is nowhere like it.
All I am saying is that when you throw out an example of someone that loves rhe snow who really hasn't had to work in it. Or really deal with it as an adult is irrelevant to the conversation.
Someone who visits Aspen Colorado in the winter to ski and play is different than living and working there.
My parents live in FL and I go there often and its fantastic when I go, but I don't have to deal with 110 and high humidity daily like someone who lives there does.
Every area has it good and bad attributes. Snow is not a plus in any way shape or form unless you are a spectator or a visitor. Ask Syracuse University why they are spending 115 million on a roof, it snot because denizens of syracuse love snow and cold.
The athletes don't have time to do that stuff, and I am 100% sure a lot of that is out of bounds for the athletes, per the coaches. Do you really want Tommy D or snowmobiling or skiing? It’s not irrelevant when you are talking about teenage recruits. Sorry I thought the discussion was focused on that. My son lives in Omaha. Winter's there can be colder at times but they are sunnier with less snow. Spring comes a little earlier in Lincoln. Falls do get colder earlier. Overall they are pretty comparable to CNY but sunnier. Are you familiar with Nebraska's climate? It's colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than Upstate New York.

What about the tornados? My son lives in Omaha. Winter's there can be colder at times but they are sunnier with less snow. Spring comes a little earlier in Lincoln. Falls do get colder earlier. Overall they are pretty comparable to CNY but sunnier.
What about Zombies too? What about the tornados?
We get waterspouts too, which I feel belong in their separate hellish category.LOL...in NC we get tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes,, snow, ice storms, heat and humidity. Guess what with the exception of hurricanes most states get most of this same type of weather.
