Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Also, "very winnable" my ass.
I miss Flood.
Kyle Flood nixed the idea because he didn't want to risk losing to Syracuse because, he believed, that could hurt the Scarlet Knights on the recruiting trail.
Or pass it!Rutgers is going to be a surprise bowl team according to Herbstreit. Might want to put down the pipe, Herbie
Sure sounds like Rutgers would like to play Syracuse. With the changes at Syracuse, I wonder if SU wants to play Rutgers?

On campus. Meadowlands doesn't make sense for this one.Would it more likely be on campus or at the Meadowlands with the stadium sold 50-50 like Bevo and the Okies?

If Rutgers is interested in this game it sounds like they are having attendance problems or are concerned about future attendance problems.
Once the newness and curiosity of the B1G wears off and the blow-out losses to Michigan and Ohio State add up, attendance understandably wanes. New Jersey --- the great majority of whom are not RU alumni --- people will only support winners.
I doubt they see SU as a "Big Name - Sure Win" proposition" with Babers in place. And more losing isn't what they need.
They built their inflated resume on Norfolk State and Howard. That's what they will stick with till the B1G tells them they have to stop,
Believe what he's saying is that their big run of "bowl games" where everyone bought the storyline that they were a program on the rise, was built on 4 or 5 Howard/Norfolk State level OOC opponents and 2 or 3 watered down Big East wins. Don't think anyone has a problem with 1 or 2 of that type opponent - it's when you build your entire OOC schedule out of them (example - Baylor, Schiano Rutgers) that people disparage your program for it.I dislike RU as much as anybody, but how is playing Norfolk State and Howard any different than SU playing Maine, URI, Colgate, or Stonybrook? Every team (with a few exceptions) plays an FCS team each season.
i just read their rivals thread on the subject, does "money" post here. I actually had no clue that SU has 1 more bowl win than RU since 2010. RU loves talking about RECENT history. It doesnt get more recent than that lol.
Theyd rather get curb stomped across the country than play a winnable game vs a regional opponent. Sound logic.

I believe he's talking neutral site game. You are actually comparing Rutgers vs. SU to Oklahoma vs, Texas?
It's more like Lehigh vs. Lafayette ...without the history and geographic proximity.

My guess is yes. If the AD office was okay playing Army, they will probably be okay playing a similar program in Rutgers.
No. I was just using that as a model for equal ticket distribution at an off-campus venue. You are actually comparing Rutgers vs. SU to Oklahoma vs, Texas?
