what leads you to believe he won't????What leads you to believe Ash will be even mildly successful? At least Dino's team is putting up points and knowcked off the defending national champions this year.

i give rutgers a lot of credit. They clearly saw improvement which they did and they sending a message that there is stability and commitment. Its what we should be doing.Must have been that juggernaut offense which averaged 100 passing yards per game. Their leading passer put up 700 yards.
Ash has that blank stare that I recognize all too well from the Gerg and Shafer years. He's been terrible.

6-18what leads you to believe he won't????
yup it was a huge improvement over the previous year. If you structure a contract correctly adding extra years doesn't matter much, but it gives the perception of stability. They saw improvement because they beat Illinois and Maryland? They had one of the worst offenses in the country and had no wins of any consequence. Would you have extended Grob after year 2 also? Terrible job by their AD but I'm certainly glad they did it.
Dino on the other hand has wins against VT and Clemson. Plenty of progress shown. I would certainly extend him.
Huge improvement from 2-10. No where to go but up. Illinois is probably the worst power 5 team (them or Kansas) and Maryland was marginal at best this season after their qb went down. I mean someone posted Ishmael's stats compared to all Rutgers wr's and they were almost identical. No thanks.yup it was a huge improvement over the previous year. Ha Ha, they just extended Ash thru 2022!!
Rutgers' Chris Ash signs updated contract through 2022: Pat Hobbs shows '100 percent confidence'
smart move by ru, we should have done it sooner. major statement to recruits. mulcahy did the same thing with schiano years ago
what leads you to believe he won't????
lets see MOST of what you said describes doug marrone . ash has a 4 star qb that just committed, who has a very impressive offer list, including us. despite their dismal performance, his classes have been on par or better than ours.just maybe he will get more high end jersey guys and metro ny to stay (which we all know i am paranoid about). the 2018 class has a few guys we offered6-18
Terrible offense
Can't recruit
No qb development
No hc experience
So again why will he?
Rough guess here, but 90% of the high profile kids that give a verbal commitment to Rutgirls end up de-committing.ash has a 4 star qb that just committed, who has a very impressive offer list, including us.
i agree with that. that was also true when schiano was there. however he went on to shut us out of nj , where we had a high profile presence and got many players from. he was all smoke and mirrors which finally was unmasked.Rough guess here, but 90% of the high profile kids that give a verbal commitment to Rutgirls end up de-committing.

they did improve this year, despite no functional qb. just like we improved somewhat .
so tell me again why not an extension??? had we given marrone the tools like the ipf, dome upgrades contract extension he may have stayed longer. imho he was bringing back su to a highly competitive stature that mac had done. however that is another discussion.
I'm not so sure here. Marrone and company seemed to do fine developing Nassib as a qb. Rutger's performance under Ash has been very similar to G-Rob. n St/OSU?MichigThe high end NJ guys have never picked Rutgers and most don't give SU a sniff as they are usually Penan bound.
Marrone was not staying in college if he was built an IPF/given a million dollar raise/etc. It's fairly well documented that Marrone was a miserable SOB and didn't like recruiting kids/donors/etc.
I'm thrilled Rutgers extended Ash but it makes zero sense at this point.
you do not know the hx of nj recruits in relation to syracuse.he high end NJ guys have never picked Rutgers and most don't give SU a sniff as they are usually Penn St/OSU?Michigan boun
scott from cba decommited from rutgers per their board
Not yet. I am watching. It's not official until it appears there.Has Rutgers Decommits confirmed?
He did take a OV last weekend. I wonder why.I'd imagine that's more Rutgers than SS..
