The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

I want them to stay there forever.

Well, I don't see how the B1G can pull this off either. Although, the Old Big East found a way to jettison Temple.

This idea of the B1G adding Rutgers smells to me like just what you get when you depend of the MBA's to "run the numbers" and build a case for the best expansion candidates.

In this case, I maintain, that the MBA's just couldn't quantify the reasons Rutgers has been so bad for so long in so many sports. So the subjective stuff was never part of the analysis.

After all, they would believe that one large State school is like another. If the State school in neighboring Pennsylvania can be successful, why not the State school of New Jersey with a larger population?

Logically neither I or anyone else I have read can come up with a really good underlying reason for decades and decades of suckitude. Some try to pass it off as being due to a particular AD or bad coaching hires or non-competitive facilities. That would work if they were down for a short period.

Here we are years after the biggest surprise gift that any school ever got, admission to the B1G based on potential and not success. And the football program has actually gotten worse. The idea that Ash, who has had some success in his career, has somehow turned into a huge incompetent shouldn't make sense to anyone.

One of their posters mentioned Les Miles

He would probably be the only coach who could come in and win there, but could they afford him, his staff, his requirements, and the commitment he would demand in funding to turn that turd into a polished turd?

The idea, for Les Miles or whoever, is to come in and win. I don't care how confident Les Miles is in his coaching abilities, ANYBODY in their right mind would have to look at the history and wonder if any kind of real success is possible there.

Paterno advised Shady not to take the job. What Joe couldn't outlook was just how dishonest and unprincipled Schiano was at his core. He was out selling National Championship but then got out of town before his vision could be seen as the complete bullsh1t it was.

Since it is higly, highly unlikely that Rutgiz will come up with a huge, irresistible pile of money, it's a certainty that whoever the next coach is will be desperate to erase past failures or know that they are never going to get a better opportunity.

Joe also told George Welsh not to take the UVa job. ;)

No NE school would spend on FB what a SEC coach would demand

I agree that the B1G won't do this; however, didn't Temple get dumped for perennial low game attendance, not quality of play?

If I were Rutgers, I'd hire a guy like the UB coach. Someone with HC experience, who builds programs, and has a unique O perspective.

But we know they'll hire someone like Ash and Flood. Someone who reminds them of Shady.

UBs coach is excellent, hopefully he realizes he will have much better opportunities than Buttgers. and yeah, they are too dumb to try and hire a good coach.

At this point they may only get someone who has NJ roots. So, I will suggest Al Golden.

Yes, Temple was ousted because the couldn't get more than 7,000 o a gme. But who is to say that that's the only reason that can be used. The point is that you can be kicked out of a conference.

If Rutgers keeps losing, who is to say attendance won't fall to less than 15,000 a game which for the B1G is a very low number.

I’m starting to wonder if RutgersAl is a fan of another team who is running over a decade long troll job on Rutgers fans.

Did you ever see the videos he used to do, from what looked like his moms room with an R tacked to the wall? Brilliant if he's trolling.

Haha, yes. My favorite was the one in front of their stadium where he just raved about the block R on the stadium.

And of course the one of him singing “only Rutgers got jersey power!”

That would make an awesome “Onion” story.
“Rutgersal finally admits he’s a Boston College fan. Cites 1997 incident with Terry Shea as reason to make Rutgers look bad.”

He’s giving me SuperPurpleCat vibes. This is just too over the top. He had to know that post would piss off the whole board didn’t he?

I couldn’t stop cracking up reading that thread.

Say what you want, but Al might be on to something. The defense will improve if they can just stop the "mistakes, mental errors, and missed tackles."

Just learn to tackle, learn how to play the game, and then do it flawlessly.

Very correctable this week for a team stacked with draft picks, all-americans, and even a few Heisman candidates.

They'll be fine.

They have a cute little thread about Coach Babers going now on Rivals.
