The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

FIFY

The first game that people today would recognize as football was Harvard-McGill in 1874.
Shhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell Rutgers, it's all they got in football, that and the ESB was lit up in red when they defeated Louisville. Not much for them to hang a hat on in their more than 150 years of football.

Besides, if Rutgers ever realizes the futility that is their Athletic Department, they may realize losing billions of dollars to be the tomato soup can for the conference isn't cost effective and the B1G may have to add a credible opponent in lieu of padding their stats with Rutgers. Can the CFB world handle such a revelation? ;)

Ahh Rutgers and your $70mil deficit, never change.

Well I can’t get the link to work but it’s on NJ.com

How about this?

Rutgers Spent What?!

Rutgers Athletics’ deficit “topped” $70M for the second time in four years in 2023-24 after the university spent a record $178.3M during the most recent academic year, according to Keith Sargeant of the Newark STAR-LEDGER... Rutgers’ athletics deficit since joining the Big Ten in 2014-15 has reached $438.9M

I guess the old adage is true...

Being the B10 tomato can doesn't pay.

A 438.9 million dollar deficit is a small price to pay for all the championships they won. Oh, wait.

It is not a bad price to pay for all the epic moments they given the fans. Oh, wait.

I guess I will go with one of our Rutger’s contributors. At least it is a small percentage of their budget.

And the SBJ article does not mention the student fees and NJ taxpayer "contribution" to Rutgers' athletics.

You can add student fees of $14,538,668 and NJ Taxpayer funds of $7,485,545 to that deficit, or $92MM deficit!

Can Elon DOGE Rutgers?
Not sure Elon and his whiz kids can right that ship. There's a lot of corruption from world class corrupt politicians and mobsters.

Shut it down and mothball it. Or, just level it and make it.a playground for kids. Even Jersey kids deserve a park, plus it would save NJ taxpayers millions annually.
