I don’t agree with this. For starters, it was the administration’s lack of support that led to a recruiting and subsequent talent drop. That in turn led to a results drop under P, but in the 4 year overlap, (2001-2004) there was only one season we weren’t bowl eligible and finished first or second in the league for two. As for Rutgers, they hadn’t been to a bowl since 1978 and Schiano was on the hot seat. When Nancy and Hollywood fired P, we lost some valuable recruits including Ray Rice going to Rutgers. That one flip resulted in their first bowl appearance in 27 years and the beginning of Schiano’s (and Rutgers’) best run in their history. Hard to blame that on P.
