Last night we gave my son the "Naked Lady Lamp" he went right into the "Old Man's" reaction.

"It's a major Award"

The scene

Best gift I got I actually got 6 weeks ago, as my brother and his wife combined my birthday and Christmas gift and got me an iPad 2. It's my favorite toy of all time.

For my 50th my wife gave me a stay and play at pebble beach. Our hotel room overlooked the 18th green. I will never receive a gift that overwhelmed me more than that. I was speechless when I opened the porch door of our room and could literally spit on the 18th green tree.. Wonderful memory.

2 Alienware M11x Laptops - Gave one to each son. They have been glued to them all day...

The best gift I gave to anyone was this year's Fantasy Superbowl crown. And I didn't even give it to him. The Philly special teams and defense did it for me. The blocked punt allowed the Dallas QB one last shot at the end zone, and he threw it to Miles Austin. My opponent had both guys (a Team QB league so technically he didn't lose Romo). That garbage hookup cost me the $$$ and the trophy. And to top it off, I detest the Cowboys.

Merry effin Christmas to my soon to be ex-friend. ;)

If you're league commissioner like I am, pay him in a sack of pennies. It helps.

$50 contribution in my name to the Food Bank of Delaware. Every year, I've tried to convince my in-laws that that's all that I want.

They still gave me the useless crap, money down the drain, but at least they honored my request.

Best I ever gave was last year to my niece and nephew - power wheel ATV's for each of them with my niece getting the pink Barbie version.

Best I ever got was an amazing Louis Vuitton wallet that I have an irrational love for. It's a great wallet.

Tens of thousands of dollars in cash. It's sort of a family tradition that every year I give a huge amount of money to my uncle.

Last year I got a 18pk of beer and this year I got a bottle of rum from my inlaws... I don't know if it's to have me tolerate them or for them to tolerate me. Ether way it is GREAT!!!

My youngest son is in grad school in San Diego and is a Wisconsin alumnus. Pretty die hard Badger. We gave him tickets to the Rose Bowl. Reasonable drive for he and his girlfriend and in fact she is originally from the Pasadena area.

I had a small oval St. Jude medal that my mother gave me when I was about 7 years old. I've carried it with me for decades. My mom died about 9 years ago. Two weeks before Christmas I lost the medal. I was crushed. Christmas morning, I received an identical inexpensive pewter medal from my wife. Best gift, hands down. Doesn't replace the one I lost. But it means everything to me that my wife understands what that medal meant to me.

We have a winner. Great gift, dad.

I received a framed autograph picture of McNabb rolling out against Michigan when we stomped them in the big house, a huge framed phto of Ernie Davis, and a framed photo of the Dome. All are going to be hung in my bar in my basement.

Unfinished stratocaster body with a beautiful quilt maple top. Now I have to figure out how to build a neck for the guitar and do the inlays.

Having kids and going through the whole build up and pay off for Christmas with them is great! The absolute wonder and joy on their faces Christmas morning is worth it. The girls got loads of stuff but were most excited about their Wii although they are border line old enough to use it so Dady has to help them a lot ;), lol. The little guy is just 7 months and was most interested in eating as much wrapping paper as he could get his hands on, still even at that age he had a sense that something big was going on.

Ha Ha Ha nu zones. No, I wasn't the TDX rep for Nu Zones, thank god.

My high school daughter getting the OK to go back to school after the holiday break from the doctor after being out of school since Oct 21st ( game day against wvu) with a severe concussion. Best Christmas present ever for me. A day I'll never forget for two reasons.

Best got:

(1) Sweet new top-of-the-line MacBook Air. That is an incredibly slick, attractive, powerful, and compact device. I'm a very late adopter, but I couldn't be happier to have been assimilated into the Apple Borg.

(2) Quadrophenia: The Director's Cut - Box set. The soundtrack of my adolescence, and one hell of a good record, now remastered and annotated out the wazoo. Great stuff.

Best gave:

Pretty much every last thing my twin 4.5-year-old girls opened. Everything they unwrapped, whether humble or fancy, was a new and more amazing delight to them. I'm trying to keep some perspective and appreciate what I've got right now, because all too soon, they'll be the ones asking me for the laptop.
