The coaching absolutely stinks

The “he deserves to go out on his own terms” crowd are the absolute worst. Was he not paid all the years he was working? In the immortal words of Chris rock, when you’re at a restaurant you’re accustomed to eating, when you leave , you ain’t eating no mo’ … they don’t owe you a steak. Well coach been at the restaurant and been fed well. Congrats on your accomplishments. Every ride ends .
I think these analogies are crazy.

We are the restaurant and JB is the hungry person?

Now I'm convinced!

I would rather be the worst than try this hard

It’s one thing to lose most of the time against UNC, Duke, and Virginia.

We should never lose to Colgate or Buffalo.
This is crazy talk. Never?

UB is not allowed to be good, we are just that special?

Why are we that special, by the way? Because of the guy that Mr smarty pants thinks is analogous to a restaurant patron

JB has also poisoned the careers of his staff - GMAC, Autry, et al. What self-respecting program would want them after this?

It would be like being a VP at Enron. You might actually be one hell of an executive, but who in hell is gonna hire you after that?

Yup - this is a torn-down program in need of rebuild at this point...

The good news is this can be done in B-ball a lot faster than in 'ball.

That said, you don't hand the keys to anyone from the demolition staff who helped demo the tear-down - You go out and hire a good coach capable of rebuilding.

Will be interesting to see what JW does... if he lets JAB tap the scepter to the shoulder of RED or another hire of his choosing, we deserve to languish in pool of bad and irrelevant.

So the AD makes the right decision only if it’s what you want.

I wonder if that's why Autry's son chose to go to GWU. Maybe dad knew there was a good chance of some SHTF in the offing.

What a pathetic effort. We weren’t ready at all. They did the exact same thing as last year. Did we even watch the tape?
Some interesting notes:
1) The hole on the right side of our zone was attacked successfully several times in a row as soon as the team switched from man 2 man to zone. Defense needs work Even though Jim said it is good. Take away 27 points Colgate’s high scorer and we win. Oh, wait a minute - too late.

2) The SU forwards and centers were a collective 10 for 20 from the field and the guards were 14 for 42. The guards were looking more to shoot first and pass last. Need to readjust our offensive strategy (or lack of offensive strategy) in the next game.

add in St.Bonnie too. It's only a matter of time with this regime that Cornell clips us too.

There's usually a right way and wrong way to go about all matter of things in life... and yes, I have an opinion on this particular matter and have posted it here.

Everyone has an opinion. Some say hire outside some say hire within. The thing is the AD is going to make the decision on what he thinks is best for SU and the bball program.

I would hope so - it's his job... but it doesn't mean we can't have opinions about the topic / decision.

You last paragraph wasn’t an opinion. It was just more hate.

Pretty sure 0 people on this board "hate" JB or anything Syracuse related. Everyone is sick of the program they LOVE finally reaching the bottom of the crapper when we've been made to watch the slow slide.

You must not be reading many posts.

Hating something and being ready to move on are pretty different. Having been ready for multiple years and there still being no end in sight as the program sinks to its lowest level in 50+ years is something too. I see football message boards more derogatory than this after a single loss.

I don't think we should hire from within and stated that, since those within the program are responsible, in part, for current state of the program - it was not hate.

My point is you don't continue on with more of the "same" if you want change that yields improvements and results.

You’re taking the word hate too literally. But you can look at any number of posts and see words used that say hate. And I think it’s worse here than the fball board. The fball board complains about coaching. Here we see words far more shots at the person.

Well that person is quite unlikeable as opposed to our football coach. Let’s be honest, Boeheim is rude, cantankerous and dismissive to anyone who questions him.

I don’t see “hate”, but I do think there’s a different frustration because people have been seeing it slowly and steadily slip away for years right in front of their eyes.

Football has been gone for 15-20 years - 3-4 coaches ago. Dino took over a terrible program.

Also the hoops program has built in advantages that the football program does not - recruiting proximity wise and facility wise.

I don’t think they’ll be struggling too much after their stay here.
