the crane the crane

Looks like final preparations are being done to prep the box girder in the Irving storage area for installation in the crown truss. Whatever the hold up was, it appears to be a thing of the past.

Hope you are correct tomcat, they have moved many of the counter weights that balances the load lifted in position for Walt. I'd like to see the girder go up tomorrow.

Looks like Walt is starting to lift the box girder. At least he has it a little off the ground now.

A big white thingy is hooked on to I think Walt right ?? Going up .

Walt is jealous of development on the other corner... he wants to catch up.
It looks like a nice day to get some more pieces up.

its way up but I dont see any of those round support things

What the heck is attached to the bottom of it that looks like a window washers platform?
Edit: yep that is indeed a work platform since there’s no hydraulic man lift boom tall enough to reach! Wow

Anyone else getting page unresponsive errors for the live feed?

It's interesting because the work on the northwest side has regularly required the scaffolding at each of the box girder joint. I don't see the same scaffolding at each joint in the opposite corner.

Read my edit above for the answer

I noticed the small crane in the upper right (I believe that's the southeast corner of the Dome) of the SU construction cam, anyone know what's going on there?

either prepping pad for crane move or getting ready to support the hanging of the backstays.

It’s really great to see them chugging along now! Was mighty nervous for a bit.

Can’t wait to see this thing when it’s all finished up!

Yes, I think the next place back stay steel will be installed is in the middle of the north and south walls, so they can extend in those directions.

I hope they have plans to light up the roller coaster. Huge missed opportunity if they don't include that in the LED installation. If they say they'll consider it in the future, it won't happen.

And there she is, just about in place. There’s been some tweaking on the North East corner as well.

The bottom pic is really cool in seeing the progress. However, scanning across the beautiful campus quad, my eyes relative to the roof lines of the various buildings hit a significant visual speed bump in regards to the dome's new roof structure being erected. No doubt, from a pure engineering standpoint what they are doing is pretty spectacular, however, architecturally speaking, at least for me, aesthetically it's much to be desired.
