We should hear soon about new coaches. While I hold out hope for one in particular, we'll know soon. But there may also be a bombshell hire which would mean, if it happens, we may be opening the bank.

My guess for what it's worth Pitts old OC from the girls.

bs?

Make room for the big fridge... move Hackett to TE/ qb coach. Then again, Fridge will be 65 this year. Maybe an NFL guy that was recently let go. Who knows, I dont know how well these NFL guys like to recruit, that is what worries me with a roster full of old NFL coaches if that is the way they go

Anselmo back to secondary or linebackers... Special team coach/ D position. Rippon works for me

Then again, if they are two names I have never heard of that can recruit probably even better.

opening the bank for a potential bombshell hire for what job? Can't imagine that would be for a position coach so you're talking Coordinator ?

I haven't seen if Rizzi has found a new job yet but he'd still be my guy to coach TE's and Special Teams.

Wouldn't have guessed there would be any bombshells left on the market.

Check out this bombshell move from yesterday:

Cal football loses ace recruiter to Washington

He's trying to pick up all Cal's big time commits from last week. He was an alum, too!
Wish we had Washington's money.

Didn't we open the "bank" for Casullo? How'd that turn out?

I'm assuming that's the kind of hire you're referring too as he was an NFL ST coordinator

now we know why Mike Martz resigned from the Bears.. greatest show on turf 2... everyone loves a good sequel..

Probably got a 50% raise

What's your defintion of open the bank? 250K or so? Please. There are coordintors out there making almost as much as Marrone. This board get dumber by the day

Already making $164,000 then got an offer from Washington he 'couldnt refuse'. wow.

But, it's clear Washington hired him for A) recruiting first B) coaching second.

Marrone should steal a page out of this book for at least one coaching spot.

Read it was a 3x salary increase from 164k to around 500k.

Also, he packed up his office and flew up to Washington without telling anyone or letting Cal match the offer a 2nd time (Cal matched an earlier offer) and his facebook profile pic was immediately changed to a huskies logo. Cold blooded stuff.

WOW, holy . Who could refuse that deal but so much for professionalism. Business I guess. When you are 30 years old and someone offers you the same job but triples your salary, you go.

BTW to bring it back to Cuse ... at least one is NFL

No, Brian Shotenheimer. Martz would be great, I just think his mind is warped enough to work in college, but Doug would hate it. I also heard that one of the hires has east coast routes but is in the Pac 12 right now and he was on the offensive side of the ball, who knows?
