Been to every Cuse game at the Dunkin Donuts center for past 20 years and each of BC games when they were in the Big East. Going back to Conte last night was shocking, I forgot how small it is. Cuse fans made up 35% of crowd, were loud and it was funny to see the reaction of the BC fans. One of the things I will miss about the big east are the pro stadiums they play in & ability to get a few beers. The Dunk holds about 13k and Conte holds 8500.

PC fans have an edge to them, it's a Rhodee thing. They really get into it even though they know the outcome will not favor their team. Having alcohol available does make it a better night. Being downtown makes a big difference too as pre and post game options are in your face as soon as you leave the stadium.

BC fans did get into it last night and made it better experience than if SU blew them out from the tip. Having it on campus kinda stinks, not much around there within walking distance. Might be different if I were a student. If BC ever gets good, tickets will be tough. Playing at the Garden would be sooo much better.

I think they used to play at the garden for all the big games like St Johns does with MSG. This might have changed since they joined the ACC and haven't been decent ever since the BE.

I loved going to the Dunk for games too. I only went to two or three Cuse games there, I think, but I always enjoyed the game and Provy afterwards. I'm always surprised that people didn't care about losing PC as an opponent as I always thought they it was a fun trip.

Monday was a nice change of pace, but it doesn't compare to PC in terms of atmosphere. There are a few reasons for me that I prefer PC. First is the off campus venue allowing beer sales. Also the surrounding area provides a fun pregame atmosphere that gets everyone going. Also the PC fans are more knowledgable and more committed to their team. I have always thought that BC has a lot of pretty casual fans. I found myself pregame 2 miles from Conte with 500 other Cuse fans trying to not get too friendly as you squeeze by each other. I can handle that when it is a short walk to the stadium, but when a drive is involved it takes the fun out if the whole thing.

The Dunk is great - easy access, great bars and restaurants, beer/wine in the arena, etc.

Conte - not so much. And yes, BC used to play their conference games in the Garden. I guess when you can't fill your on-campus bandbox, it doesn't make sense to rent the Garden. Where are all the Superfans? ;)

i like being on campus and happily tradeoff two hours of not drinking. more interesting to walk through the schools, see the architecture, students, etc.

The Dunk and surrounding area are excellent. I hadn't been there in several years until I went last year. I wish we could keep paying there.

Dunk location is better than Conte. However, the Dunk is the middle of Providence and not on the PC campus. Conte is right on the BC campus. I never spent much time on the BC campus I was in Newton which was like a South Campus bus ride away. The problem this year was the 9pm start time on a Monday. Not many SU fans who weren't from Boston/New England could go. Syracuse always had atleast 25% of the crowd when we played Providence if this game was on a Saturday/Sunday or a weekday at 7pm Syracuse would have had a better crowd. The late start time actually helped Boston College because it made their fans louder and had more sauce in them before arriving. The only reason to miss playing at the Dunk was it more room for SU fans its not that great atmosphere when a big dog isn't in the house. Give PC a UConn-Syracuse program they are up for the game give them Seton Hall/DePaul its not loud.

These games are the same for me BC/PC as aren't that different of programs. PC has more local fan support because their are no pro sports in RI and they are a hub of Boston and URI the state school is treated like the University at Buffalo as the state team. BC has success more recently than PC. I think PC has 1 NCAA tournament win since 2000 while Boston College has 4 or 5 NCAA wins in that timeframe. Boston College has fallen on its face because it fired Al Skinner cruelly who did a good job, but his recruiting had fallen off a little a la Coach P. However, BC didn't realize the guy did a decent job and has become crappy since. Donahue was suppose to have a bubble team this year, but hasn't taught his kids how to play any defense. That team has too much offensive talent to be 5-12 and has been the biggest disappointment in the nation.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think playing games in off campus NBA arenas is very small time.

Their Big East record was a sham, inflated by the unbalanced schedule.
