yeah that was about the most anti-climactic last game of all time - team came out flat and looked like they'd rather be somewhere else (knowing they had a good chance to make the tourney if they won, and 'nova being pretty mediocre that year) - really REALLY hoping the team this year does the opposite of that

It's almost the same situation too; if memory serves that game vs Nova was basically a play-in game for the tournament, no?

This team had it put together for 3 days in November and about 3 weeks in Jan/Feb. But since that time, Cooney is a smoldering wreckage, Roberson flew over the cookoo's nest, and Mal seems to have traded brains with Lydon. On top of that, playing the Unflushables in the first round, there is exactly zero reason to think anything good is going to happen.
