no one destroys qbs like schiano

this is going to go really well. when you have a chance to start the 65th best qb in college football last year, you have to take it!

He will be looking for a job soon.. Guy is a complete train wreck.

Very very good defensive coach, special teams guy and recruiter. Horrible every where else, horrible fir for the NFL as well

An absolute train wreck. I'm guessing that the decision to entrust his career to Glennon will go about as well as it did for the former NC State coach who opted to play Glennon over Russel Wilson.

This really sucks for somebody like Ryan Nassib. I think Nassib has a better chance to succeed than Mike Glennon, but Glennon is getting a chance to start already on team with decent talent Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Doug Martin, and Nassib is stuck behind Eli Manning for the next 4 years. I really wanted Nassib to get a chance but he never will.

After the way the line played on sunday it might be sooner than you think.

he might not be on the giants forever.

backups move around

i don't want him to have to play this year, wouldn't go well.

He'll get a chance. Just not, most likely, with the Giants.

Good buddy of mine is a NFL guy. Schiano is in waaaaay over his head here. He is an anal, drill sergeant type that rarely works in the NFL. Coughlin gets away with it because he is a master tactician. Schiano's strengths have been recruiting and motivating. That works well with kids, not professional athletes. My friend would be shocked if Greg makes it the entire year. Freeman is well liked in that locker room, and I'm pretty sure it is a house divided at this juncture.

The way he operates he must think QB is the LEAST important position on the field. Is there anyone who has a history of creating such instability at QB.

They have Zona this week and then a bye. I know the first two games of the season were close, but if they get blown out, he may get the boot going into the bye week.

agreed! Love Ryan, but he needs some seasoning time!

Freeman did all that was necessary to win at Jets and against New Orleans. Bad coaching decisions cost the Bucs the New Orleans game. The take here is that demoting Freeman is an attempt to reframe the failures as not the coaches fault but the players fault.

he's one of those defensive guys that hates offense so much, he hates his own

He won't be the first guy who cut his teeth in college to fail in the NFL (Spurrier, Saban, Riley, Petrino, Chip Kelly). Yes, the last one was a joke. The key is knowing that it's not going to work out and landing on your feet back in a high profile college job, instead of trying to be stubborn I know I'm a good NFL Head Coach guy. I'm sure his people are calling Texas, USC on a daily basis.

Chip Kelly doesn't belong on that list yet.

This is what I said last week. Schiano will not last the year. Players did not like him last year... most people feel he did not like Josh Freeman. But he has got to be stupid to think that he get something out of Glennon this year. Reminds me of what he did with he QBs at Rutgers. Keep switching to mask your own shortcomings.

A lot of college coaches are successful because they are ace recruiters who can sell ice to Eskimos. In college they have a talent advantage on the field most games. That skill is irrelevant in the NFL. Most talent is acquired through the common draft and it's a lot more important to be able to effectively use the personnel you've got.

Did you stop reading after I wrote Chip Kelly?

Supposed to be a joke. I don't root for the Eagles, but I do root for anyone cursed with that first name by their parents.

Also, sort of related but sort of unrelated, no matter how Marrone does with the Bills, I wouldn't put him on that list. He has enough NFL experience that I would consider his most recent college gig as more of a stop on the tour. I guess you could say something similar about Saban, but only 6 years in the NFL, and at least 16 years in college prior to the Dolphins job. At this point, I'm just talking to myself.

so durring his presser today he says - i asked ownerships ok

what a cop pout - make the call as head coach or say ownership made the call-

Oh my gosh. I don't know how I missed it. Not my finest moment. Oh Lord to myself.

As a Bucs fan, I can't wait for this season to be over with. Despite the fact that Freeman is a 5 year vet and Glennon is a rookie, I'm still more intrigued with Freeman than Glennon. I know with certainty that Glennon sucks and will never be a good QB. Freeman shows that he can be a good QB for 4-5 game stretches before reverting back to struggling.

Regardless, hopefully by the end of the year, Schiano is fired, Freeman is gone, Glennon is the backup, we have Bridgewater, Boyd, Mariota, or Murray starting at QB, and the rest of the team is still relatively in tact and not trying to do whatever it takes to escape Tampa. There's so much talent on the roster right now, but with Schiano and the current QB situation, they aren't going anywhere this year. They also still need to add another CB and a WR or TE to be a 3rd option in the passing game.

Chip's first name is actually Charles...it's so unfortunate that he doesn't go by Charlie, especially coaching in Philadelphia.
