Now it’s giving the joke of a university credit. Let’s face the university does not care about athletics at all. However when the season ends next week there needs to be a press conference welcoming back Adam W as the NIL guy and have him promote Autry. You simply can’t run it back with Autry with no nil like there is now.

Well do you think the university will do anything about it ? Being serious.

No next year they will run it back with Red and it will probably be a little better than this year because they will get a better point guard than Carlos who can be a coach on the court at least on offense and get the team better organized and in better sets but we will not make the tournament and then we will see if all the tournament or fired talk is real or not

Why I am responding to this, I have no idea. One, that isn't going to happen. Two, we have NIL this year and that can't be an excuse next year.

Talk to me in November with that. Not after this disaster of a season and this disaster of a game.

Been thinking about it for a while... Not just because of this game.

Could change my mind, of course, if we retain Freeman and kill it in the portal... but I am not optimistic about any of that.

Running it back with a lame duck coach is likely gonna be brutal.

oh, I understand. Believe me. I have said since the first games, I can't wait until the season is over. And it's not just because I hate winter, which I do. To watch this is so unentertaining.

I didn’t watch today’s game. My blood pressure says thanks. I’ve missed a couple other games and was happy about it.

They can’t expect us to watch and support this product.

This is Syracuse basketball. Where is the pride?
Whatever the buyout is you come up with the funds. We are on the edge of a very bad precipice. A point of no return.

We'll see how it goes in the offseason, but if we lose Freeman, the portal is a struggle, etc. I can't watch Melo tarnish his legacy too ... I jus't can't.

Haven’t watched a game since the calendar changed and won’t until Red’s gone and we have a clean break from the JB era. Kiyan and Sadiq are very promising and talented, but I think we’ll be worse next year if they have major roles.

What is Melos tie to Red? I think maybe Red was playing overseas when we won the NC. And his first coaching job was well after Melo left Cuse.

These next 60 days may be the most important days in the hoops program‘s history. The portal can’t just be good. It has to be great. If it’s great we as fans will get excited. It it’s not, I can’t imagine how distressing it’s going to be moving into next season.

The university is underestimating the apathy that continues to spread. They are making a dangerous assumption that fan support and $ will return whenever they figure this out. What they don’t seem to recognize is that many of these fans have discovered new ways to pass their time during the winter. Sure some fans will eventually return but the ceiling is going to keep lowering the longer this apathy continues.

Agree 100%.

Choices have consequences.

I think the university understands the situation very well. JW has been very quiet. I’m sure he’ll give an end of the season update of the program. If Red comes back, as a fan I will support him and the guys the best I can.

This is the problem with a continuity hire, when your program was already on a rapid decline, there has to be way more than that to get fans back. Fans keep hearing every off-season how good we will be and we keep ending up not being good. I think they are losing or have already lost the faith of the fans like football has, it is going to take more than hype to bring people back. They either have to hire a new coach like Football, to drive up hype, or if they stay status quo, they will have to prove it on the court against a good team. Not against LeMoyne or a weak preseason schedule, win that NIL tournament and you will open eyes. You will have to do something to prove it to the fan base now. Too much losing to just believe in faith again.

I think there’s some hyperbole and exaggeration going on now.

It sucks we’re bad. It sucks we’ve been in a real rut for 8 seasons.

But I don’t buy that we’re going to miss out on the one coach who could turn SU around if we don’t fire Red in 2 weeks. And I don’t buy that the fan base will be irreparably broken if we don’t fire Red in 2 weeks.

There’s always a hot coach we can find. Fans love winning and will show up when we start doing that again.

There is also zero point in keeping Red after 2 weeks. He isn't magically going to learn how to coach in the offseason.
