The real problem with Florida State at #4

I don't care who Arkansas has played putting them at 12 ensures that the Saragin rankings won't ding SEC teams for losing games. Marshall is not a top 15 team but winning should matter more than playing tough games and losing." If you play in a P5 conference.

How you play matters...of the 4 teams currently in the playoff I don't have a prob with fsu being 4. They've looked the shakiest. Although none of this probably matters because none of the 3 are beating bama
they are also the only one with a zero at one end of their record.

Honestly as long as hey finish top 4 it really doesn't matter except for he color of their jersey.

However, putting Florida State at 4 sends he chilling effect that margin of victory and game control matter more than just winning games. You play to win the game not dominate the game. The committee may not like the ACC like the SEC or PAC-12 but FSU has played 11 of 12 games against P5 competition and yet because all they do is win they dinged. If Syracuse magically went undefeated they would barely be top 4 if all they did was win and not dominate.

I get FSU hasn't looked great and could have lost 5 games but Bama barely beat LSU/Arkansas/Miss state and trailed Auburn a great deal and they don't get scrutinized like FSU.

It is bad precedent.

This is why they need to go to eight. When the last team left out, (which could still happen to FSU if they win unimpressively), is not a team viewed as a legit national championship contender, then you know your tournament is big enough: all the teams people see as legit contenders are in it. This splitting straws between Baylor and TCU is absurd.

Actually , Going undefeated after winning the NC last year shows this teams one of the Greatest teams of all-time. They should be getting EVERY 1st place vote.

I just had to go back and find this one.

Great thread!
