A quick look at the sched (some would say- shedyule) reminds me that last year SU had a bye week after game one, and then SU played 9 consecutive games before its second bye week. During that 9-game span SU played against 3 or 4 teams that were coming off of a bye week. This just added to the difficulties that SU already faced.

This morning, after a taking a quick look around the conference schedules, it looks like SU plays no games this season against any teams coming off of a bye week. In fact, it looks like most teams in the conference have their bye week at or around the same week near or at the beginning of conference play so that very few, if any, conference games this season involve one team coming off of a bye week while the other is not.

This was huge. Limited offensive playbook, really good defensive teams coming off of bye weeks, crazy injuries with no break until before the Pitt game. Recipe for disaster.

Wind should at least be at our back. ;)

Really got off on the wrong foot against Villanova. This year need to get of on the right foot...score score and just keep on scoring...don't let up.should be out for "blood". If UAlbany put up 37 points on em last year we should double that. No mercy no getting angry throwing punches no let down. Smart mean nasty football!

Our schedule is remarkably advantageous this season. It's sink or swim on our own merits.

Yes, and I don't recall this coaching staff ever using the schedule as an excuse. I recall some of them being asked about playing so many teams coming off bye weeks, and the responses were along the lines that they couldn't recall seeing anything like it, but they didn't turn it into a crutch. They may have complained behind the scenes, I don't know, but publicly, as far as I know, they kept on keeping on and so did the kids on the field. I admire that.
