The last sentence has been applicable to 90% of the players in our program for the last ten years.I think he can be a good contributor by his senior year. A more athletic JB Reafsnyder. He has to get stronger though.

And Red has a pretty damn good record in year one. Lot of work but we’re trending in the right direction for the first time in almost a decade.Everyone knows Rick is a great coach but there were millions of reasons to not hire him here.
We don't want Bell leavingThese guys are just sophomores, Mintz is the only one with significant playing time. Starling was hurt at ND last year, at least Red gives them a leash, Cuffe can play D and plays taller that he is.
It’s hard to play 6-8 minutes a game and be effective and consistent.
Personally I could live with Bell leaving, set shots from 2 spots on the floor does nothing else, has nice hops but doesn’t utilize it.
Edwards didn’t really make noise till he was a junior, McLeod can develop.
Hima, Bell & Taylor & Mintz to NBA and I would be fine with everyone else.
Good lordNot the talk but the roster is probably flawed if Starling doesn’t come off the bench. Only 2 of him Cope and Westry should be on the floor together. I think Cope has passed Starling at this point.
Quality over quantity one center and one really good transfer who can shoot and the freshmen is going to be enough new faces.
There may be several players that leave on their own before you can have “the talk” with them too.At this rate it will be easier to have the talk with. Guys you want to stay
Nope. Time to bring him off the bench tho as that’s the best role for him to start next season. Can’t lose your best pure shooter even if he’s had some serious duds as of late.We don't want Bell leaving
Add in Carey, Patterson and Hima.Bell Taylor and Copeland have no business in a Syracuse jersey.
with his complete lack of caring / effort on defense , he needs to go on GP alone. its truly gross and I've never seen anyone that laced up em for this university consistently care / try less on that end of the court . We've had plenty of bad defenders, but nobody that put forth this degree of WGAF.Nope. Time to bring him off the bench tho as that’s the best role for him to start next season. Can’t lose your best pure shooter even if he’s had some serious duds as of late.
36% is their “best pure shooter,” pass. 36% is a “pg who sometimes shoots” average. If bell is only going to be a 3pt specialist then he shouldn’t be under 40%.Nope. It's not that good for a three and no d75% at the FT line is pretty darn good. With Bell that is the least of my concerns. He quite literally doesn't rebound, cannot play defense and is unable to create his own shot. His shooting is the 1 skill he has.
Carey has the most upside of any of our bigs or forwards. People seem to forget he missed two years.Carey has more upside than people realize I think.. Needs some more strength but he got in great spots much of tonights game.. If he figure out how to finish the simple stuff he can do some damage on the pick n role.
He rebounds like Bell so I don’t think he can be on the court for long in the ACC. Can see the rest of his game improving to a high major level but rebounding no it’s not even D1.Carey has the most upside of any of our bigs or forwards. People seem to forget he missed two years.
I can see the argument with bell/taylor but Copeland? Come onBell Taylor and Copeland have no business in a Syracuse jersey.
dont disagree with most of your post - but center is the biggest issue on the team, imo - going to need at least 2 new centers on next year's roster, imoCarey, Hima and Taylor should be nicely told to find a better fit. Benny won't be forced out but let's hope he realizes he gave his all here and it's not working out and sees hope in Girard's current situation. Judah will leave for the NBA.
In reality, the roster will not be turned over quickly. So, everyone else should be working on their flaws or shortcomings after the season ends. There's this thing called "working to get better." I think that major Division One programs with highly skilled and paid coaches make a plan for each player after the season that can be effective.
Copeland will be the best distributor coming back, so the goal this offseason should be intense ball protection and ball handling/dribbling training, along with decision making.
There's a marvelous facility named after a hall of fame player with a top notch weight training room, with a highly paid professional weight trainer who should be able to transform the young eagerly growing body of Chris Bell to gain strength even if body weight/mass gain is a struggle.
There are googable videos of "how to increase your vertical leap" that really works and I have seen young guys at my gym do them, and over the course of time, these guys went from being able to touch the backboard, to touching the rim, almost can dunk, can actually dunk, making spectacular dunks, elevating over guys for rebounds. Perhaps our coaches can try to find these videos to help our wonderful Malik get even better.
I can go on about each guy but I guess you get the point. Instead of moving trainable guys along or settling for years with a player's limited skill set, how about doing your job as coaches and trainers and work to help them get better?
We definitely need a knockdown shooter from the portal to go along with the unproven Moore. We also need a multi-skilled forward, also from the portal. Those 2 needs are possible and realistic gets. But, to round out the picture and to have a better 24-25 season, the guys who are already here must get better in their areas of deficiencies.
I can see the argument with bell/taylor but Copeland? Come on
I wont be surprised if we have a mass exodus like the womens team a couple years ago. I could see Maliq Brown leaving, and playing for Virginia.

I hope not as well. But his post game presser worries me, I know he's a reserved individual but that post game seemed like he checked out. Just my opinion.Hope not.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Judah portal out, in search of the biggest bag.
Have to believe that Maliq will garner external attention, as well. Hope he's committed for the long haul.
