The train thing...

If true...then there will be many attendees blowing multiple whistles at the same time. Sad but true.

Well you are used to blowing multiple things in your mouth at once so we should be fine.

I went to the infamous Joe Fields debut game against Purdue in West Lafayette. They absolutely killed us, and everytime they scored, they blew that giant train whistle full blast, and then paraded a big drum they called 'the world's largest' around the endzone celebrating.

I was haunted by that blasting horn for years. I still occasionally wake up in a cold sweat, with the sound from the horn reverberating through my brain...

One thought: if we stick with the train whistle, we should pair it with the world's largest tuba. It is in Markneukirchen, Germany, and I think we can get it for a song. DCII can carry it.

Now that's a tuba!

The train would bring back bad memories from 2004 when I got early and hungover for the Purdue game and all I remember was hearing Boiler Up. I like the idea though and would support it.

They do such a rinky dink job of it at Purdue..almost like they are making fun of themselves. We could make it legit.

It is too bad train station is not closer to the dome. Get a legitimate Express with one car, have the players ride it to the dome and walk to the game while surrounding by the band. Probably would not work under the current set up though.

Purdue already does this. Skip to 1:30.

We should go Bigger WAY Bigger than that tiny little train. This thing should be just thin enough to fit through the tunnel. And park there during games and sound the touchdown whistle.

Bring back the old Edwards dept store train and put it in the dome

That thing looks terrifying. The wire on the windows making sure you never escape is a good touch.

We have one that used to bring people from the Carousel Mall and Amtrak station through armory square and right by the Fine lot.

Instead of singing Sweet Caroline why not NY this thing and have the band play the song "Erie Canal" and we sing to that?

"Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal"? Sorry, but Oh Lord. Better: Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" with references to parts of the state rather than just NYC.

Low bridge...everybody down.

I'm open to ideas and hopefully SU is too. We HAVE to find a way to brand this thing.

Hey let's also not forget about our own Harriet Tubman and her underground railroad...we have some extra railroad history here. Yes by the way, I know it wasn't an actual railroad.

And instead of the tomahawk chop, SU fans can do the train whistle pull. "Choo! Choo!"

Holy lord imagine that? You'd have people wishing for the key shaking to come back!

That's the thing...some of the fans just want to enjoy themselves and for me I want as much football/NY related things as much as SU possibly can. Somehow they have to continue to tie in those two things to attract as many people as possible. I dig the train idea.

And of course, the Dome would be remiss if they didn't pipe this song in, and let the good people shuffle to Grand Funk Railroad!

I was actually serious (for once) about The Locomotion song. Good song, good crowd feel to it. Could become our own "Sweet Caroline."

I like it.

Gerry Goffin and Carole King wrote the song in 1962.
The song was released and performed by Little Eva, and it went to #1
on the U.S. Pop Charts. The song was later covered by other artists as well, most notably Grand
Funk Railroad in 1974, and Kylie Minogue in 1988.
