- Accurater and I had a fine time- when we weren’t watching the game. We are good company with bad mojo, despite the bag of oranges he brought along for us to share. We’re going to try it again for Louisville. Our luck has to change...doesn't it?
- Going into this road trip we’ve have taken 2 of 3 in a heartbeat. Now we have 4 straight home games and an opportunity to really get going.
- Michael Gbinije was brilliant, hitting 5 three pointers and slashing to the basket for two more baskets and 5 for 5 from the free throw line. He’s slowed down his free throw shooting and making his shots now. He’s 15 for 19 in his last 5 games. He had 24 points, only 1 rebound but 3 assists and 4 steals.
- Mal Richardson hit 6 of 10 three pointers, (he and Mike were 11 for 19, the rest of the team 2 for 11) and score 23 points, most of them big ones that kept us in the game. Most freshmen play well in the pre-season, then hit the wall in conference play. He’s reversed the trend. In ACC play, he’s out-scored Gbinije 125-122 ((15.6ppg vs. 15.3). he’s a freshman and Mike is a senior. What will Mal be as a senior? (It might be some NBA team that finds out.)
- I couldn’t help but think of next year and how different our team will be with a 7-2 shot blocking center, possibly a 6-10 power forward, a 6-8 all-rounder and a 6-5 blue-chip guard. But that’s next year.
- We’ve proven we can compete with anyone in the conference. Now we need to beat them.
13-8 (3-5) with 10+ to go…and only 4 more wins needed to guarantee our 46th consecutive winning season!
LET’S GO ORANGE!
