had the oline protected better the WR were wide open.

they figured out a way to gain about 200 yds in the 4th

the D played pretty well missing some big pieces and on the field most of the first 3 quarters

Pitt at home is a different game if TD comes out of this in one piece

first half I agree some strange holding on to the ball plays.. that last quarter he let it rip pretty good.

but he should be every play not have time to make 2-3 progressions

The book on TD is to blitz the heck out of him. When teams are sending 6-7 guys, you don’t have time to read 3 receivers.

He has to understand the blitz is coming, trust his coverage reads, and let it zip. NC St played man with a single high safety and sent the house - several one on ones taking place in those situations.

I said in pre season that Td will need his hot reads when blitzes are coming and with Ed we didn’t have to have hot reads cause he was a tank. We do none of that stuff. Our playcalling is useless. I also noticed and maybe it was cause he was injured but Td does not like throwing to his left much. Does anyone else see that or is it just me.

I think taj noticed he does not like throwing to left.

Quickly reaching the point I was at a couple years ago (and remain) withe the bball team of simply finding the team unlikable and just hard to care about. That was never the case when Dungey (hell, even when Mahoney) was on the field. At the risk of further deifying ED, its remarkable how much fun he made watching Cuse football.

At any rate, the silver linings I can try to (unconvincingly) point to on the team:

1)Jordan looks like a promising WR. I'd like to see a lot more of him.

2)Howard ran with purpose. I think he and Adams have skill sets that will do better with this trash OL than Moe.

3)While Robinson had another relatively quiet night (I know, I know...double teamed, held, etc.), #55 was lights out.

4)Jackson is built physically more like a #2 WR than what you would like to see as a #1, but the guy is a playmaker with a lot of polish.

Here’s the deal...

we have a coaching scheme that for whatever reason this season is out there playing not to lose. Not being aggressive, not pushing, just trying to keep it close.

we have a qb who has his sights on the NFL and only thinks about his stats...doesn’t look like he cares about winning or losing.

maybe I’m reading it wrong and I hope I am, but someone on this team needs to find a heart and start playing.

Hot take?

OL protected better than they have all year. QB wouldn’t pull the trigger.
I think you're letting them off the hook to much. Not either or here. I'd like to be able to run the ball some day too

we appear to be missing Stricklands blitz picking up ability too. Noticed a few times where RB went out of his way to pick up an outside blitzer vs guy closer to QB. Assume that’s on the reads on OL or RB.

I'm just saying they protected the QB better against a regular rush. I assumed they'd have to crawl before they could walk.

I'm a broken record about needing to run the ball better.

The 30 false start penalties are inexcusable.

Give us a QB who throws the football and we steal a win last night.

This is not good. Thursday night, no one bothering me, no chauffeuring ankle biters anywhere, can just sit and watch like the old days, and I said hell with this and went to bed. Terrible performance by me and then

Armstrong started looking like midseason Whitner yesterday.
Still needs to wrap up and get to the carrier quicker though. He’s getting there.
See I saw it completely different. He makes a great play then overruns fits 3x in a row. Way to slow to sideline for that zone bend they run. Can’t get off a block to save his life and again I’m not sure if ward even teaches different techniques or not so may not be on army totally. Play Richards for a bit and see.
