Things less nerve-racking than this waiting

Having a socialist President that says "We have no spending problem." Socialists never have a problem taking and spending OPM. His Dad argued before the UN for a 100% tax rate. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

You get what [97% of the African American population] vote for.

Roosevelt was elected and kept in office, despite the absolutely dismal performance of his socialist policies (increase taxes, vigouously attack and regulate the private sector) by the flood of turn of the century socialist immigrants, like my Grandfather.

Sometimes history repeats itself. Obama's policies will prevent economic recovery.

As Keynes noted, "Even the most practical man of affairs is usually in the thrall of the ideas of some long-dead economist”. Obama is a slave to a ruinous theory of economics, ie socialism. Even Keynes came to criticize Roosevelt for his socialism, although he did not use that word in his letter to Roosevelt. Much to our regret, I doubt that Obama knows anything about the Austrian school of economics. The original intent of the Electoral College was to keep unqualified candidates from becoming President.

Roosevelt’s philosophy is distributed scarcity. Redistribution is a loser’s game. Productivity is unlimited. Wendell Wilkie 1940.

Countries with logical economic policies recovered from the Depression before the War.

If it was up to Roosevelt we could have lost the War. See Johnson's biography of Churchill. Luckily, Churchill was able to pull Roosevelt's strings. Roosevelt wanted an immediate invasion of Europe. Churchill drove it home to Roosevelt that Germany must first be stopped from getting unlimited N. African oil. According to Churchill, Roosevelt was incapable of understanding strategy.

"More" nerve-racking...

People who take a stress-reliever thread and turn it into a political discussion.

I'm 22 years old. I'm trying to increase my knowledge of politics. I haven't paid much attention to it in my life because I hated the favoritism and corruption.

I'm becoming more interested in it because now that I am living on my own I am experiencing firsthand the travesty that is high taxes and ridiculous insurance policies. It's becoming more and more clear to me our president is in over his head. Political parties are outdated.

There is an off-topic board.

Thanks.

Enter at your own risk and be prepared to be ridiculed by whichever side of an idea that you don't agree with.

Agree with your sentiment that political parties are out dated but not sure what can be done about it. I'm 28 now and have followed polotics more closely the last few years. You will find that both parties ooze favoritism and corruption and most folks just fall in line behind whichever candidates corruption benefits them the most. It's great to be informed, but the more you know the more both parties will p*ss you off to varying degrees.

Yeah, I've been there. The problem with politics is it's all politics. The goal of our government should be to unite our country as one, but political parties end up doing the exact opposite.

Because any politician that actually works for the people, doesnt get sufficient financial backing and never makes it through the primaries. Big money companies give us who they want as options and give us the illusion of electing the 'best candidate' when we truly just try and figure out which one is less of a scum bag.

Ron Paul. Never had a chance of getting elected because he never changed his viewpoints just to get votes. The amount of money these political parties spend to get reelected is a travesty.
