I was thrilled about Dino and then he was a psycho making reporters close their eyes and thought oh crap

I think we should try hiring a normal person who knows offense someday

I agree. Bottom line, we need coaches that can coach players up & teach them such that they are exceptional at the fundamentals.

OK to have a salesman as long as he surrounds himself with exceptional coordinators & doesn't let his own ego get in the way of them doing their job.

I worry Nixons success was 60% McCords coaching elsewhere. 20% Pena & Allen's grit & 5% Gadsens presence. And the rest maybe himself.

Nixon's offense looked pretty good with Angeli to start the season. When Angeli was upright, he was leading the nation in passing. That is without McCord or any of those players you listed.

Syracuse's 2024 offense was one of the best in school history. We could score from anywhere, anytime. 30 seconds left on the clock, no timeouts? No problem. Nixon gets credit for that too.

Let’s face it, as awesome as 2024 was, that team was really flawed. Defense was poor, specials were hideous. Even with LQA the running game was generally pedestrian. We were obviously great throwing the ball, spreading it around to what I think was the best group of pass catchers in college football. Obviously the passing game died this year when Steve went out. The other thing we were really good at last year was winning close games, they never panicked. That team had a ton of great upperclass leadership. That did not exist this year and to me was an under appreciated aspect of the 2024 team. We lost so many good guys and really were not able to come close to replacing them on the field and in the locker room. I think Steve would have clearly been our leader if he stayed healthy but you need other guys too, not just your QB.

Good opportunity to remind everyone that “Orange is the New Fast” originated on this board (thread below) and I didn’t get as much as a free t-shirt for it.

I feel like if you spelled it The Dome’in Empire you might have got more traction there. Solid name

Fran said Angeli and Collins were locked in a fierce QB battle. Fran says things.

I can’t imagine Robinson will be DC anymore. Maybe Fran keeps him on staff to coach DL. Or maybe Robinson slinks away because he doesn’t want to be humiliated.

But I wouldn’t pay attention to what Fran says. He lies sometimes.
I think that became quite evident this season. I don’t trust anything Fran says anymore.

You aren't a hard nosed dome dude? Orange is the new fast dart
After consulting an all-encompassing binder, I closed the doors and channeled belief without evidence, closed my eyes and imagined that a hard nosed team in Orange was the new fast who were disciplined, accountable, relentless, and tough, while displaying that they were committed, they cared, and they could be trusted to uphold the Orange Standard with Level 5 intensity. It was glorious!
