This is Embarrassing

im not going to go into details but its a bad look for a variety of reasons that that section is near empty

Just reduce the overflow section by half. And revisit after next year.

To put it simply, if those tickets were for public purchase that section would have been at least 80% filled and we’d have a near actual full capacity dome. The student alottment is proving a bit over generous regardless of whether or not it “sold out”. If the students arent consistently showing.. reallocate a few hundred back to the public.

You asked for public and casual fan support, you got it
And we would had more Burgess Meredith looking green weeble wobbles yelling let's go Irish

The problem here is they sold out of season tickets fast

They’ve had NUMEROUS complaints about why there isn’t more available

Sometimes I think we need to take a step back as fans an realize that Syracuse is here for the students and not for us

This is inaccurate

Unless something changed very recently
Yes, I don't believe this has been decided yet. The latest plan was to delay the start of installation until after the 2023 football season, right? With most of the installation happening during the summer of 2024 I think.

It is a fact that there is significantly less room per row for the 300 level than for the other 2 levels.

The 100 and 200 levels were designed for bleachers with backs. The 300 level was not. That presents challenges bringing in individual seats to the 300 level.

It is uncomfortable moving around in the 300 sections today. If you need to get to a seat 20 in from a row, you have to do a lot of bending and contorting to get there (and the people in the way have to move around too).

I could see where it is possible installing individual seats makes things more uncomfortable for fans than dealing the existing hard aluminum bleacher seating. There isn't much room to get around even today.

Pretty sure the plan was to go with wall mounted seats for the 300 level that are not as deep as the ones for the other levels. I think those things would mitigate these issues to a large extent.

But if they only went to individual seats for the 100 and 200 levels, the capacity for football might be reduced from 50K to 47K and the capacity for basketball only reduced from 35K to 33K. That minimizes the impact this would have on income (assuming we are going to get sell outs fairly often in football or basketball).

The impact on the location of long standing season ticket holders for basketball would also be reduced pretty dramatically. I think people on the 300 level would still hate it but you might be able to keep your section and only get moved up 20 rows (instead of having to move a section or two further from half court).

I could see where the powers that be might consider this as an a option.

If we see a fan survey comes out soon only for basketball season ticket holders that sit in the 300 level that has a question mixed into the middle asking about whether you would rather sit a section further from midcourt for basketball and have an individual seat, or stick with a bleacher seat and retain your existing seat, it is time to take this idea seriously.

This might be the most accurate description in the history of the world. hahahaha

Can’t get into details about this, but it would have been locals in those seats. Majority rooting for Syracuse.

One thing is for sure. SU considers a sell out when public tix are gone but not student tix.
May be possible too that student tickets are included, and many casual students chose to carry on with their parties instead of attending. Could especially be true considering the first play pick 6

Is Halloween weekend after all.

There were plenty of seats on the secondary market for anyone that wanted to go. Still don’t know what fair pricing means.

When they announced the sell out yet also said there were some student tix left. So they don’t count the students as part of an announced sellout.

We need to institute this right away! Worth like $40 grand!

All has to do with the noon start times. Kids are out partying until 2-3am at the earliest on Friday night. They aren’t getting up hungover to go to a noon football game. The later starting games it was jammed packed up there. Thankfully FSU is 8pm
