Last year just before the Clemson game, I was diagnosed with an abdominable aortic anurysm. I was very lucky because it was by accident that they found it. The Clemson game was the last game I was able to attend then. I had surgery at St Joseph's on this date, November 9, one year ago. Stents and what I call a six inch pipe was placed inside my artery.

During that game, my brother was worried that it would rupture and I would bleed out. He kept telling me, don't get excited. Thinking back, that was a joke, but that's my brother. He cares for me. I watched the rest of the season from my easy chair while healing.

SU, kind of went south the same time I did. I have been given a clean bill of health and I only have to see my surgeon once per year now. SU kind of followed suit.

I was in Poland for two weeks in October and my wife kindly scheduled it so I wouldn't miss any home games. Very kind of her.

So, I will be there tonight as I always am. Thankful that the doctors found what they did. Missing those few last home games a year ago, was painful, but everything worked out for the better. Go Orange!

I understand your connection to the program. We all feel it here, but express it in different ways. Enjoy this stellar season. Heck I’m coming from the West Coast just to sit in freezing Yankee Stadium and watch what I hope is a pigskin classic with SU on top. LGO.

Glad you are well and the team has been able to provide you with smiles it what surely is a difficult time.

Glad your doing better brother! Have a great time tonight and don’t start too early. I’ll be in front of the tv at jersey shore. Cuse is on the loose. We’ve become the team no one wants to play! Incredible.

Glad you’re well, we need all the SU fans we can get! Enjoy tonight!

Man, that's awesome. What Dino and crew and team are doing right now is literally making our lives just a little bit better. And 17 years of believing is paying off and glad you're good to go to see this through!

There is definitely a 6 inch pipe joke somewhere in my brain - but im not going to look for it :).

Last year you had a foot in this world and another foot in the next. I can only imagine how that must have felt! But a year has gone by, you have healed, and are here to witness this amazing turnaround for your beloved Orange. I am so happy for you!

My father had two heart attacks 6 weeks apart and didn’t survive the second one. A couple weeks before the last one, he called me up and said, “Have you ever noticed how green the grass is?”

Appreciation of our lives is one of our most precious gifts. Your story helped me land on that spot today. Thank you.

You are extremely fortunate and blessed that they found the aneurysm and you have done well in your recovery. I wish you many more years of good health and enjoyment watching SU sports.

You are indeed very fortunate that it was detected early. My father’s went undetected, and ultimately killed him.

My Dad's was found because he had kidney stones. Two years later he is in better shape than me. Glad you are ok.
