some teams get away with low IQ because they have 4 and 5 star talent (Miami/ FSU) , some teams with 2 and 3 star recruits win b/c they have football smarts and play hard (Boise, even Northwestern), but when you have zero star recruits who don't play hard or smart.. then you have a recipe for a terrible team..
